Meanwhile in the infantry.

Seriously, if you are in a combat situation, you should never, ever, EVER, use full auto, that is unless you are laying suppressive fire, but that job often falls to the guy with the MG. But if you are a grunt, don't use full auto, one it hurts like a bitch, two it makes you inaccurate as fuck, three you burn through your mag in a very brief ten seconds, and four, I hope you have plenty of bread because you are going to be swimming in jam.

UseOfLolz you doesn't sound like a person who have ever laid hands on a firearm. Not even when laying down suppressive fire you use semi automatic. The "Full Auto" is for use only as a "better safe than sorry" selection to use in CQB. And even there it's VERY rare to see anyone fire fully automatic. If you see someone who do shoot Full auto, shoot that person. It's most likely your enemy. And a 5.56 is not "Uncontrollable" on Full Auto. It's called burst fire.
In the army the m4s we use don't have a full auto setting, just burst fire which we are never supposed to use either. Though you can get away with it during firefights on deployments.
