A frog was once in the same position on my car, when I tried to turn my wipers on it caught his leg and dragged him up and down my windshield repeatedly, I panicked but only made it worse. By the time his horrific experience was over, you could tell all of his internal organs have been crushed, and all I could do was just plop him onto the grass and leave him to be devoured by ants, and he still could have been living. I'll never forget.

It's probably so apathetic because it's near death. Birds get like that when they are dying. Once found a swallow standing on the sidewalk that didn't fly away as I got near, even as a touched it withe my foot.

I think you are right. I ran into a bird like this too. My brother and I were walking by it and we thought it was dead. Then when we tried to pick it up it flew away less than a yard and just sat. We eventually picked it up and it just sat on our fingers like, "Am I suppose to be scared of you?"
