I feel the same way. And you know what pisses me off, last week I spend 30 fraking hours studying for one exam and got a fraking 62% on it anyway. I still passed the class, but barely.

mfw seeing my grade earlier today. And now I have another exam this week, this one is even more important.

That's what I used to think, then my friend died of cancer at 17. Now I feel like I would be dishonouring his memory by wasting what time I have left.

Yes I'm also aware I am on funnyjunk wasting time but I am also eating breakfast and getting ready so it's not completely wasted time.

When I was younger I used to read Asterix comics a lot, and at the beginning it had a character profile type thing for the major characters. In the one for Chief Vitalstatistix it said "Tomorrow never comes." I'm sure this saying didn't originate there, but it always stuck with me and I say it to myself anytime I think I can do something tomorrow

I was making a ton of progress with losing weight recently, as I was going to the gym nearly every day.

But that's come to a near standstill, as recent issues around the household have disrupted my life pretty harshly, and I've felt very little desire to be active in anything, even with taking a walk outside.

Now I've become addicted to caffeine (again), and am very anxious at the thought of losing the progress I've made with my weight. It's not like I eat a whole lot, but the fear is still there.

How could you possibly be addicted to caffeine? you don't really even notice it's effects

it's like being addicted to putting a stick in your mouth and pretending to smoke it

Have you ever had caffeine? you're either someone who's chemistry isn't impacted that much by certain substances, or you haven't had very much of it to notice.

I like to drink monsters (none that have sugar in them, I dislike drinking caffeine and sugar together, makes me feel to weird). The resulting buzz I get from the caffeine gives me a good feeling of being wired, alert, and focused. it makes doing things a bit more bearable/fun during times of stress.

what happens is I start to get a craving for caffeinated drinks, and I'll grab a monster just to drink it. If I go without one (or any source of caffeine) for too long, the result is I get massive headaches that make me want to just fall into bed and go to sleep, which disrupts my sleep schedule.

It's hard to not have a drink when you get combinations of the craving/headaches, but I'm making the effort to not drink any for a bit, until the headaches calm down.

My advice is to buy caffeine pills. Energy drinks are just so **** for you man. Even the low calorie ones are full of **** that will complicate your weight loss. You can buy 100 caffeine pills with 200mg each for like 7 bucks. Just take less and less every day and lower your dosage. If you're feeling demotivated take a caffeine pill and maybe some beta-alanine which will boost your energy and help you get in the mood for a workout (or just buy a pre-workout). Once you have lowered your caffeine intake just switch to a non-stim pre-workout.

I didn't take energy drinks for when I was going to the gym, I was completely off of them and just going to the gym/going for walks/jogging every day, which felt great and all.

It's just recently things have become very stressful and depressing, which has deterred my focus from the gym. I've been taking energy drinks (monsters) mostly just to feel better.

Yeah, I just mean if you're going to want caffeine get it through the pills, not energy drinks. Caffeine does a good job of controlling appetite as well and can be a useful tool. I was just suggesting to take it before a planned workout to help with your motivation issue. I've had motivation issues my whole life and am a generally lazy guy. I find it helps if I keep reminders all around me (desktop background, posters, tattoos, etc) of what I want to accomplish. Thinking about how far you've come and your goal image all the time. Also it's great you noticed how much better you felt when you were living a healthier life-style. If you can man up and push through the hard times it'll just get easier since your increased health will in turn increase your mood. You can do it buddy. Just force it the first few times and give in to no excuses and next thing you know you'll be in a routine again feeling better.

Im telling you right now, that it will happen. I would exercise just about every day and made some great progress with my weight loss but school started and my depression hit me hard and I haven't worked out majorly in months. I have gained about 15 pounds back due to my inactivity but I feel I will start soon again but I am hoping to get back into my right frame of mind. Just saying don't let family life effect you that much, it will have its toll on your body and mind.

Caffine is actually harmless in small dozes(3 a day) and can actually help you stay watered and give you energy. Drink without sugar of course(sugar sucks anyway).

3 what? 3 caffeines?

And yes, caffeine is harmless as long as you don't consume too much, the lethal dose is 1000+mg which is about 10 Red Bulls. This is if you are an average adult and if the caffeine is not consumed right away. An average adult starts to experience side effects after 400-500mg, though and those include shaking, sweating, faster heart beat for example and sometimes an upset stomach, but this is only if the dose is taken within a few minutes, so if you chug coffee or eat 500mg of caffeine tablets you will probably experience this.

Don't worry. I've been there, hell I lost 20kg on my first cut and gained it all back due to having to change lifestyle for academic success. I'm a competitive powerlifter, so the fat didn't matter so much, but my health did. I cut again and I lost it again. You'll gain back all your motivation once the stress is over, since the testosterone comes back.
