I went to college because society says I have to. Also, being in major debt is the best feeling in world.

The thing is, I could go to a far cheaper trade school and end up with better chances of a career than what I have right now. It's okay, though. I really like college so I guess the experience makes up for everything.

If the education isn't worth it, the experience always is, and sometimes teaches you more than your studies would.

societal pressure is real think about it throughout school you're told you have to study and get the best grades so you can go to college and be successful get a good job and attract a good wife or husband if you're gay. Then you parents also tell you to get good grades and try to get scholarships etc .Then many women will only date a guy with a college degree. so obviously one can see these pressures and more would make a man feel he was being forced to go to college.

Learn programming first. Develop your own engine and make a game on it. Present that infronta of a game-studio. The'll likely hire you. The pay is about 60000-200000 euro per year.

If it wasn't for that once every 24hrs live thing it wouldn't be bad. M$ officially announced that their won't be a fee for used games and you can even mark down up to 10 family members and they will be able to play your shared games from any xbox one. Well see if they go back on the 24 hr limit.

I strongly disagree.

One should do what he loves to do, I myself aspire to be a musician who makes a living just from gigs (not to be rich or anything).
I don't care if I barely make enough just to be able to rent a ****** appartment, it's something I love and I would chose that over some ****** desk job.

I just don't think that's what life should be about, I understand that it's always nice to have money and do **** with it, but in the long run, I just want to do what I love to do and live with it. There's much more to life than trying to get a steady income by doing things you don't necessarily like that much (not that no one likes it, I just don't)

game development is a thing that requires A LOT of passion.

if these comments make him turn away from game design, he wouldn't have made it in the first place.

developing indie games is excruciating. there's no way of knowing whether your game will sell or not and you'll be working on that one game for a ridiculously long time.

if you go to a big company as a game programmer, you'll be doing a lot of **** that you aren't actually interested in. you'll be doing projects that you don't like.

There aren't any availabilities in the area I'm qualified for. I want to do network security with the certifications I worked hard and spent money on getting. I'm not going to bag at burlington coat factory if I spent years working towards certifications or a degree. I would if I had to, but I eventually found a full time job in the field I wanted.
