MFW Norway, the richest country in EU, is about to ban begging and making the beggars pay a fine or go to jjail.

pro-tip: it's not the norwegians who beg, but gypsies and slavs.

To people who don't get the joke - a Tibet monk once lit himself on fire to protest Chinese ruling them. (I'm not 100% accurate but you get the idea)

nuclear energy is the future of producing electricity. fission for a while, fusion in the future.
i think it is a lot like the pioneers of flight. a figurative ton of planes crashed, but they kept improving the planes, safety measures, pilot training ETC, until flight is now the safest way to travel.
likewise, nuclear energy has had a few major incidents, like three mile island, chernobyl and fukushima, but with better reactors, better seismologic/geologic understanding of where it is safe to put the reactors, and more efficient use of the raw materials, leading to lower waste amounts, nuclear energy can easily be the most important field of research to hinder global warming.

Isn't Norway almost entirely hydropower?
User avatar #49 to #48 - frohtastic (06/18/2014) [-]
yes we are.
thanks to a lot of mountain rivers and the like.
we also have a lot of windpower AND we have a electrical company that is researching into tidal power.

to be honest, most of the oil power gets exported

Hey, Amerifag here.

Norway actual uses almost none of its oil to power the country. Norway is almost completely powered by hydroelectricity (a renewable source)
