Well I don't pay tax so it's free for me.
#237 to #177 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/13/2013) [-]
At least you have the balls to admit to this mentality, unlike others who dress it up with "we all pay together!" and are too cowardly to admit they just like the idea of other people paying for their healthcare.
User avatar #241 to #237 - Loppytaffy (10/14/2013) [-]
Well actually, if I did pay taxes, I'd be contributing to the national funding for schools, dentists, healthcare and other public places.

I don't mind that our tax is so high if it means we're helping eachother. Perhaps this is why Britain has been able to surivive for so long as a tiny independant country?
#243 to #241 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/14/2013) [-]
Uh, no? YOu're not even paying taxes by your own admission. It's pretty obvious the tax system is not about "helping each other", but rather lower income people forcing higher income people to pay for everything.
User avatar #245 to #243 - Loppytaffy (10/14/2013) [-]
I said "if".
And when I'm employed, I will be.
Yes, the lower on the food chain do pay taxes, but then there's supertax- 40% for higher income.
And the richest of people don't tend to use the public facilities anyway- sending their children to private schools and using privates dentists and hospitals.

You're proving my point and are too stupid to realize it.

You're an idiot if you think a middleman is a good thing.

Why don't you jsut be a man and admit that the reason you like government healthcare is because you like other people paying for your **** ? At least then you'd have your integrity.
#192 to #163 - imofcnotharveydent (10/13/2013) [-]
I'm not rich, I probably will only have a mediocre income and be happy with what I do, my father does sweep in a good amount of money though, and if I was a greedy scumbag then yeah, I'd probably hate taxes and want our family to have as much as possible, but I'm not, if taxes pays for at least one good cause then that's enough, I will never be completely happy with what tax money is spent on but one pro

also please tell me why I'm a fool for having my own opinion.

inb4 trolled u R Ma Gerd XDDDD!!!!
User avatar #179 to #163 - applelemon (10/13/2013) [-]
Other people pay for your **** , and conversely, you help pay for theirs. I suppose that's the logic behind the system.
#235 to #179 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/13/2013) [-]
That would be stupid. Why wouldn't you just pay for your own?

The purpose is to make one group pay some portion of another group's healthcare.
#178 to #163 - sursum (10/13/2013) [-]
You're implying that anybody who accesses taxpayer funded healthcare isn't a ******* tax payer. The whole idea is that everyone ******* pays. Stop using the argument of "oh you only like it because its free" when the chances are he is helping to ******* fund it in the first place.
#236 to #178 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/13/2013) [-]
You're a moron if you think everyone gets what they pay in and no more. The entire point of programs like this is to make sure group A is paying the difference for group B. If there weren't a subsection having some/all of their care subsidized by others, everyone would just pay for their own.
User avatar #240 to #236 - sursum (10/14/2013) [-]
I never ******* said that. I'm saying your a ******* idiot for assuming everyone who supports government healthcare doesn't contribute to it. The whole ******* idea is that because EVERYONE pays its cheaper than private healthcare, chances are if you do need to access it you will be getting more than you put it. Your pissed off that you for example might not need to access it and thus your payments are just lost money. THAT'S HOW REGULAR ******* HEALTHCARE WORKS. THIS IS THE WHOLE IDEA OF INSURANCE private or public. Jesus if you don't like it you can get a private plan and none of this ******* applies to you.
#242 to #240 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/14/2013) [-]
Uh, no, I cannot just "get a private plan and none of this applies to you". There is no opt out. If there was the whole system would collapse since anyone paying in more than they use would opt out.
User avatar #244 to #242 - sursum (10/14/2013) [-]
You can keep your private plan if you have some disproportionate fear of government.
#247 to #244 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/14/2013) [-]
ANd in regards to your above additional misunderstanding, the problem is people paying based on income rather than based on healthcare needs, not that I might pay for insurance I never use. I work in insurance and I'm perfectly aware how it works. In fact it's my understanding of the precise math behind it that makes me realize how costly "free" healthcare truly is, when every bored housewife can fill a day by going to the ER for the sniffles on taxpayer dime so they can get the most out of their "free" health insurance.
#246 to #244 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/14/2013) [-]
There's no way to opt out of paying for others is the point. I've been pretty clear on that, so at this point, your lack of understanding is on you.
User avatar #249 to #246 - sursum (10/14/2013) [-]
"when every bored housewife can fill a day by going to the ER for the sniffles on taxpayer dime so they can get the most out of their "free" health insurance"

I'm not even going to bother arguing with someone who thinks like this.
#252 to #249 - fuckyosixtyminutes (10/15/2013) [-]
Fine, keep deluding yourself into thinking all people are responsible with other people's money when there's no consequences if they're not. However stupid you have to choose to be to get your "free" healthcare.
User avatar #256 to #252 - sursum (10/15/2013) [-]
You sound exactly like those ******* right wing tea party nut jobs in the US who stand around chanting "NO TAXES" while taking advantage of tax payer infrastructure and services.

Don't mock the NHS, it's far beyond anything you Americans have, and even better than our German system.
It's pretty neat.
User avatar #229 to #94 - makonendrak ONLINE (10/13/2013) [-]
Having known people who work in the NHS, I can honestly say it's not all that great. Its design is too highly focused on middle management so money that could be spent on equipment or actual doctors/nurses gets drained elsewhere

It's a conspiracy I tells ya!

Yeah so if you don'y like the service you get from the NHS go to somewhere else like BUPA and pay for a better service but its better than no health care because you can't afford it.
