The Imperial Guard seems like a mix of Marines/Army and the Russians

Based on my experience, the Imperial Guard are there to be rescued by space marines and beaten up by the forces of chaos. I may be wrong, though; seeing as I've played one game with them: A 2v2 with my team as tau and imperial guard, and the other team with dark eldar and daemons. We lost.

Well, yeah...
I think the forces of Chaos are pretty tough, because of the game's origin is in fantasy, where they would be the equivilent of actual deities.

Doesn't mean we have to fear them.

It's a fun game once you get your head around the rules. The best thing about the 400 odd page rulebook is that most of it is fluff, and most of the rules are optional.

I have played DND and a few others, so I think I may already have some of the basics of tabletop games down...

That's actually a horrible survival tip because urine is more concentrated than blood and thusly will dehydrate you.

It is advised against drinking urine because it reintroduces toxins back into the body. However, drinking your own urine when water is scarce can help you survive an extra day or two, such as with the survivors in the following article:

Well he was swimming, so the jacket would have weighed him down a lot. It's smart what he's doing. Stupid that he's swimming and not walk around the place.

also, getting your jacket wet would almost certaintly kill you in the wild, if that was your only pair of clothing. kinda stupid to get in the water though, if your life is at risk

Actually, I do appreciate the camera men. They have better gear and such, but that just means they have to carry all that shit with them.

The longer a Saiyan fights, the stronger he becomes. To fight untill you almost die is the greatest effort your body can give. That is why they become so strong after that. Goku died 3-4 times, but the same rule applied.

Dragonball or Dragonball Z? I never watched Dragonball, it's too slow and childish, from the little bits I've seen. Dragonball Z is good as a whole, although the drawing style gets better during the series. There is one particular point in which the drawing style becomes exeptionally good, but you should really watch it from the beginning.

I'll give you a brief recap on Dragonball, so you can watch Dragonball Z with too many question marks on your face. Goku was a baby when he was found by granpa Gohan. That grandpa taught Goku everything he knew about martial arts. The strange thing was the Goku turned into a giant ape when he saw the full moon, and he killed Gohan in the form. Then he comes across Bulma, who told him about the dragonballs. They go to find them all to make a wish. Underway Goku trains under Master Roshi, together with Krillin and Yamcha, and they defend the earth from all kinds of danger. In DBZ, Goku has grown up to a man and is married.
