My art piece.

The green describes the horrible affects after war because when in war the grass is green and so is my picture, parts of it is green. I think that it is a very well done piece because it shows how bad war can be towards people and how it can ruin people's lives and their family's lives.

Last year my English teacher asked the class to make "abstract art", I forget why. My friend and I took a piece of loose leaf paper, stabbed it twice with a pencil, and said it was about the moral gray areas in the War on Terror. We got a 100 for the assignment.

My friend made this a while back on MS paint while I was having a sleepover.
It's labled on my computer as "xxxdoublepenetrator.png"
I have no idea why I kept it

I dont know any of the formal rules of art, but I agree that it looks off-balance and just not right. The bottom corners are too empty.

Clearly to symbolize the emptiness in the corners of our hearts.

Most modern abstract art takes little to no skill to produce and should have no place in a museum. Its presence is an insult to every other painter whose work is housed there.

So, I was at a modern art gallery. I saw a piece of wood stuck up against the wall.
"They're doing some construction I guess, clumsy workers."
Look beside it
See label
"What the **** ?"
Look further down the hall
See masking tape. That's "art" too
One guy put newspaper on a salami
That's art
What the **** .

This is in the national gallery of art, and I had to write a report on what it means. Why?
User avatar #61 to #57 - Zeigh (07/19/2013) [-]
Pretty sure I made that in elementary school when we were being taught colors and color combos.

That's non-objective, not abstract. Go ahead and thumb me down for taking a basic art class.

Abstract art is about conveying the idea/motivation behind the piece in an unconventional way, at least, that's how I see it

The guys who replied as "im an art student" believed it was abstract because he said it was, so they took him seriously.

At least, that's how I see it. A lot of scribbles and messes can be passed as abstract art, but if the person who made it had no real motivation behind it, then it's just an insult to people who actually make abstract.

I'm not an abstract artist, or even an artist, but I think people give abstract artist a hard time simply because it doesn't look super amazing and realistic or flashy...
User avatar #21 to #5 - anonefgthree ONLINE (07/19/2013) [-]
People give abstract artists a hard time because it can take 30 seconds to make a thing like that in paint and then they sell it for 100 bucks to other stupid artists
