Christopher Nolan never said EXACTLY what the morphine was, he was going for realism in his movies and all thing that are in them could be made/happen. And since Venom doesn't exists in the real world I don't think that was it. But I haven't watched the movie since it came out so maybe I'm missing a few plot points saying it was Venom.

realism? im pretty sure half the shit in the Dark knight wasn't real. especially when he took a unstable atom bomb and smacked it to the ground with his flying car. i thought he tried to follow the "Dark knight" comics as closely as possible. so if the Dark knight comics had venom it was venom if they didn't they it wasn't.

I feel like I remember them saying that the bomb couldn't explode through any other means except through remote or manual detonation, but again, haven't seen it in awhile. But I think ya got me caught on this one, maybe it was Venom.
