You mean lean to the left?
User avatar #10 to #8 - kugis (18 hours ago) [-]
Is that layout a regional thing, or are you just weird?
User avatar #11 to #10 - edgecutter (18 hours ago) [-]
Just about the entirety of Western Europe, excluding the UK, uses a similar one.
You have Belgian AZERTY, French AZERTY, Dutch AZERTY, German AZERTY, etc.
Each with their own respective little accents for the various languages.

It's a pain playing games that don't: a) immediately switch to QWERTY upon playing it, or b) you have to re-map all the keys yourself

To be truly weird, you need to use a DVORAK keyboard layout.
User avatar #17 to #11 - biasmonkey (16 hours ago) [-]
Never seen this layout in The Netherlands, or ever for that matter.
And after a quick Google search I've found out that only French speaking country's use it.
So no clue why you say that most western Europe uses it.
User avatar #18 to #17 - edgecutter (16 hours ago) [-]
Eh, maybe it isn't as common as I thought.
I just know a few Dutch who're very much used to the layout, and I've pretty much used this in my entire life, despite not being french.
User avatar #41 to #18 - rumpelstilzchen (12 hours ago) [-]
German layout is QWERTZ
#59 to #41 - neruuub (11 hours ago) [-]
For a moment, I thought, "What the **** , my keyboard is QWERTZ, what the **** is wrong?" Then I remembered it's just the way it's supposed to be.
User avatar #19 to #11 - seras (15 hours ago) [-]
Germany uses QWERTZ.

psssst it's a french thing. no other respectable country in the world uses azert, just the frenchies
#26 to #20 - applemoose (14 hours ago) [-]
Hey, we belgians aren't frenchies.
#14 to #11 - anon (17 hours ago) [-]
i've never seen these strange layouts in germany. we use qwertz.
dont know where you got the idea from that germans use azerty
User avatar #12 to #11 - kugis (18 hours ago) [-]
I'm from Czech rep and I've honestly never seen anyone use this. QWERTZ is the standard here.
User avatar #34 to #12 - thesecretbear (13 hours ago) [-]
QWERTZ? AZERTY? Are there any other odd setups I should know about?
User avatar #50 to #34 - shorea ONLINE (11 hours ago) [-]
standard QWERTY in Poland, we've been using QWERTZ pre 90s on writting machines, but we transfered, like anyone with a brain should do, to a standard english keyboard.
to get polish symbols we just use right alt.
User avatar #13 to #12 - edgecutter (18 hours ago) [-]
Apart from my University, this keyboard layout is pretty standard here.
User avatar #37 to #11 - toncheky (12 hours ago) [-]
you trippin we use qwertz
#32 to #11 - trustust (13 hours ago) [-]
I used a german keyboard for a few years and it was QWERTZ, and the dutch use QWERTY. French and Belgian is AZERTY though, you're right on those.
#15 to #11 - anon (17 hours ago) [-]
Éire also uses qwerty

Go eat a dick, if you know touch typing it's one of the most relaxed keyboards available, with one of the lowest travel distance between keys.
#53 to #52 - shorea ONLINE (11 hours ago) [-]
what? I ain't travelling anywhere.

about 2 keys change per key, easiest transition in my life and so worth it. Go do it and no regrets
User avatar #55 to #54 - shorea ONLINE (11 hours ago) [-]
but... why? I don't see a single good reason for it, only bad ones.
User avatar #56 to #55 - tmgrskat (11 hours ago) [-]
No carpal tunnel syndrome if you type a lot
User avatar #57 to #56 - shorea ONLINE (11 hours ago) [-]

I used it as a reason to learn touch typing, I used to type like a retard because of WASD

You'd have to level up your Charisma stat, but why do that if you can invest your points in the more useful skills.
User avatar #62 to #9 - bigbrostrider ONLINE (10 hours ago) [-]
considering my guy took all the drugs, i'd say charisma was pretty ******* helpful.

I always roll high Charisma characters. You beat any enemy as long as you're smart enough, but Charisma rolls are forever.

You simply dont talk to people. Learn basic responses for situations like at the cash register, bind those responses to the number 1-9 keys.

Okay make fun of my social anxiety then.

It's stuff like this that makes me not leave my house.

I once had a boy laugh at me in highschool for personal reasons (I was having my hair dyed but it went wrong) and nobody stopped him from laughing. When it was over I felt so destroyed that I didn't leave the house for a week.

No, I'm not going to have sex with you if you laugh at me. Stop it.

True social anxiety is treatable with the right therapy. Or, in the event that it's spurred by a chemical imbalance, it can be fixed with medicine. Now if only medical insurance wasn't so ******* insane....
