This is a classic, but I wonder something, how did they do the scene with the baseball bat? Because it's looks very real for being so low budget. Unless of course they did it for real, but I assume they didn't because it's just a parody.
He actually didn't do that much with devil worship and found satanism to be as stupid as Christianity.
The lyrics about suicide and murder are real feelings he has, twisted though they might be, would you rather he killed someone instead of just singing about it? He's entitled to his own art, gruesome though it may.
Also he thinks people who kill other things are stupid and those who take his message as condoning violence/telling them to commit violence to be insanely stupid.
It's about expressing yourself, not going out on a rampage. I'm not a fan of it myself, but I don't approve of changing your message just because some people tell you to.
those are valid points, and everyone has their own ways of coping, but if i had feeling like that i'd work on getting rid of them permanently as soon as possible, and mirroring my negative thoughts in as few minds as possible.
Everyone wants to kill someone at some point in their lives. Anger and hate are like that. Some people keep it in or try to sooth it with pills. Others find that letting it ******* go heh frozen is so much ******* better, and when you share similar feelings with a group you actually feel better due to humanity's survival instincts (like minded people=friends, I think there's a study somewhere on this related to patriotism proving that people indeed have a herd-like mentality when it comes to shared ideals and experiences).
I could find a quote and a link but it's 1:30 in the morning here.
I say that as long as he isn't killing anything or trying to harm things, and makes it clear to his fans that he expects them to vent, not to cause harm, it's fine.
the problem comes when the gruesome message spreads faster than the positive one, something that's out of his control once it's released. on the other hand, if one bad artist can ruin a community, it just might have had something wrong with it before.
As Manson said once, if one artist can ruin your faith then your faith wasn't so strong at all now was it?
His fans live on his every word, most of them anyway. The few that don't and take his message and believe it means kill your schoolmates have already had something wrong with them.
Personally I listen to quite a few songs advocating murder and vigilante justice, hell even rage against the machine sings about rebellion. I don't like Manson personally because of his voice and because he over-states some of it. I don't care for songs that are literally just screeches to die over and over again.
Back to my point, Charles Manson used the BEETLES songs to justify his murders.
The difference between most people and people like Charles Manson is a whirlwind of mental instability and issues that go beyond the music. You can't just ban Marilyn Manson because some nut went and shot someone after listening to a song.
Marilyn Manson I think also stated that if people just listened to kids like the columbine shooters instead of ignoring their cries for help it wouldn't have happened in the first place.
"They'll just cut our wrists like cheap coupons
and say that death is on sale today" - The Fight Song by Marilyn Manson
He doesn't advertise death. In fact I read almost all of his lyrics and all I could find is like 3-4 songs about suicidal thoughts, but nothing that actually tries to advertise suicide or murder....not even a ******* song about satanism! He's against christianity, sheep mentality, following without questioning and stupidity in general.
He does the same thing many metalheads do, only to the extreme: By looking weird and evil/satanist/goth/whatever you wanna call it, stupid intolerant people will not approach you, while only those who are open minded will.
It's a great system to filter people, and it works like a charm.

At least he wont get fined a married man's ransom
But somebody might pants him
reindeers in church are going to have a prance hymn
his arm might be strong, but nobody will Lance him
small spaces make you feel cramped in
lebrons legs were cramped when it was hotter than the damn gym
his legs may be fried but do not France him
look at that man, do not glance Jim
Obama is sad, because black people cant swim
these rhymes are hanging on by a damn limb
Salad.
