your story is great and all, except that these weren't weapons. They were used to detonate landmines before soldiers crossed through an area.

It's true they were initially designed to be used to detonate landmines.
They were used though to scare enemy soldiers a few days after D-Day in the hedgerow country. While it isn't useful as an attack weapon it looks scary as hell and you would rather be shot than caught in this thing.
"One unexpected effect was that the noise, dust and terrifying appearance of an approaching flail tank caused several Axis infantry units to surrender without resistance"

You can use it as a weapon, if some bastard thinks he can suicide bomb with a mine then this will take him out, also, would NOT want to see this coming towards me, even if it wasnt meant to kill me, what is stopping them from running me over with that?

It blows it up, but from the bottom side with a back spin, shooting the blast away from the tank.

It sets off the mines. The flails are about ten feet in front of the tank when spinning, so it sets off the mines before the tank goes over them, and the tank is also reinforced in the front to minimize damage.

This tank is at Canadian forces base Borden. It was designed as a anti minefield tank and worked on using the balls to hit the ground to stimulate the impact of a person walking to set off mines so a infantry group could walk behind it unhindered.

It's on the other side of the base, it's been a while since I've been there but if memmorry serves it's in the general same area of the rec-center, (following the mainroad that leads to Barrie.) -then down a side street. (It's next to a war museum there). I haven't actually been to that exact area in almost 8 years, but I definitively recognize it still because I remember being curious about the tank so the landscape stuck in my head.

Any middleclass german tank completely outmatched most allied armored vehicles.
The allies simply 'won' through sheer quantity.
That worked back then.

a sherman firefly with its 76mm cannon cannot penetrate the armor of a Konigstiger. there's no case that the frontal armor of a koenigstiger got penetrated by american tanks. and the koenigstiger is as fast as a crappy sherman :-)

A Firefly has a 17 pounder gun, the 76mm was an American upgrade from the 75mm. The 17 pounder as taken straight from fixed anti-tank positions and could easily penetrate the armour of a "Koenstiger"...

The United states of America 'won', yes, but, that's only because russia and Canada did about 60-70% of the work for the states. and, -you- didn't do ****. Did you step foot into the tank, go onto the front lines and kick the **** out of germany?
Nope. The only people that did do so are dead or are close to death today. You have no signifigance with the war.
