Towels are needed because of a few reasons:
1. Other men doesn't like to see another mans penis.
2. Sitting on a hot ass bench hurts like a bitch,towel is like a cushion.
Can't think of a third one

I never wear a towel in sauna and if the bench is so hot then you can throw some water on it or grow some balls and take it like a man once you sit on it it's not that bad and you can lay that towel on the bench but never have i known someone who likes to was a towel in a sauna guess nordic men are just manlier and don't like to cook their balls
