There's been like 12 people there and space travel is getting privatized, which means eventually there will be moon tourists.

Why do we care so much about going to the moon? Nothing's there. It is a waste of resources and money to go back.

There comes a time when we'll have to say goodbye to the Earth. When we inspire the world about awesome space missions Like the apollo missions in the 60's we create a generation of people very interested in these things. Now you have a handful of scientifically literate people and voters.

Massive precious metals and minerals. A new map of the moon has uncovered a trove of areas rich in precious titanium ore, with some lunar rocks harboring 10 times as much of the stuff as rocks here on Earth do.
Can humans survive extended periods in 1/6th earth gravity...... practice for colonizing other planets (mars).
I don't know why anyone would be opposed to it. The greatest advances in human history are due to us always looking for something else to achieve, trending ever onwards and upwards.

There's a good chance that there is a lot of helium 3 on the moon which is very expensive and materials made in low gravity have different properties then the ones made on earth. Not to mention it takes less energy to go back to the earth then it does to go there so it also has mining use and millitary use as a missile base. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonization_of_the_Moon very interesting subject actually

Imagine being able to take a weekend vacation to the Terra-dome on the moon.

Going to sleep watching the Earth rotate below you, as the Terra-dome will be on the side of the moon we see every night here on Earth.

Yeah, imagine spending 10000€ just to get there and risk to die due to failures of the shuttles (which are much more delicate than planes or cars). ******* fantastic.

Something a friend of mine brought up a few days ago, is that, if the human race eventually spreads out among the stars, colonising planets and whatnot, we'll be special; we were born and lived on the homeworld of the human empire. The original planet. Which is kind of a neat thought.

We will be the ancestors of a great empire that all of humanity will remember. Like the Roman Empire. The Mongol Empire. But this will be an Empire that spans Light Years, not miles. Many humans will live their entire lives never seeing the Human Race's home world. We will have lived on a planet that people make pilgrimages to. unless we encounter a far stronger race

And that's when a bunch of idiots start believing deniers. :/

Kinda like what happened after most American soldiers who walked into Auschwitz died..... a bunch of edgy teenagers got around to spouting off some ignorant **** without their grandparents being able to bitch slap them from the grave.

Every "Death Camp" was "liberated" by the soviets. Americans only liberated concentration camps, none of which had any sort of organized killing program professed by the soviets and jews.

Ok, lets think about this critically and objectively. Im going to state my opinion right off the bat, just to get it out of the way. Walking on the moon was mainly a political play which accomplished essentially nothing useful. Sure, it was cool, but all it did was unlock the achievement. Now, going back to the moon would be just as helpful unless we decide to actually do something with all that empty space. And right now, to be honest, not a whole lot of countries are economically stable enough to be funding such a massive project. And lets face it, it really would be MASSIVE. There are so many things that would be required, including technology, such as air farming, that we don't have (excluding such inefficient reactors as plants.) So yes, there will no longer be people that have been to the moon. Oh well.
