Seriously, do they even know what a black hole is? In order for the entire planet to become a black hole, it would have to have the same mass in the volume of a golf ball....

There was a miniscule possibility for a black hole to form actually. However, the black hole would be so small that it would "dissolve" in nanoseconds, thus not posing any danger to us.

I suppose. But they're colliding, what, two neutrons? The mass of the black hole would have been almost nothing, which means that the gravitational effect of the black hole would also be nothing. Still, I suppose logic is lost on some people.

Education? I believe these people probably have a decent enough education. They simply chose to believe in a form of Christianity that is incompatible with logic.

Meh. Often, I deny the fact that religion often serves to impede understanding, but it is true. It is hard to make one's religion compatible with science. I know this personally.

I dont find it hard at all. I see no reason why my faith (christian in nature although I dont really follow any one branches' teachings) does not allow for alien life, dinosaurs, or even other gods.

I'm a christian and a chem major/physics minor. I don't see why everybody thinks that you can't love both science and religion. A lot of people who will go all out and argue for one side or the other will use scripture that is twisted and worded incorrectly, bringing them to a false conclusion.
