I really don't know. Every time I see this gif (even in my own folder), I laugh my ass off because it just makes no sense.

Not "explodes". Explodes. An outgassing event (When a solid or liquid is spontaneously converted to a gas) is one of the most catastrophic events in practical chemistry. Luckily this demo is a low energy event.

That is why i put quotation marks around "explodes". In order for it to be an actual explosion it would also have had to release heat and light. It does however, provide the necessary spontaneous gas expansion to be labeled a low-energy explosion if there had happened to be a source of heat presented from the reaction.
