Science cannot prove that any religion or belief is wrong. We do not have the means of measuring reality's macro or micro edges. So at this point, you wouldn't be completely wrong in saying that it is both, truth or total bullshit.

Science has never actually debunked the teachings of a religion, but they have done so to the modern interpretations of said religions.

No, but we can verify particular claims pertaining to the physical world (its age, whether or not there was a global flood, how humans came into being, etc) and if religions keep getting proved wrong time and time again on these issues... remember the story of the Boy who Cried "Wolf!"?
