Is it just me or is the most important part, the red dot drawing the heart, not following any logical pathway or pattern?

It bounces across the radius of the blue circle in.

Yes, I realized this. I spent a good 5 minutes looking till i read your comment. Ruins everything.

It took me a minute, but I noticed that the red dot is connected to a pink dotted line that goes to the pink circle, with a hinge on the line to make it move a little, along with a short blue dotted line that connects the red dot to the center of the blue circle, so as they spin, the movement of the pink and blue circles forces the dotted lines to move and what not, causing the red dot to move around in a pattern

tl;dr - Pay close attention to the pink dotted line

dude, the pink dotted line is moving randomly, according to the 2 points.. one of the points is following a pattern, the other one is drunk

no, the part of the pink dotted line connected to the pink circle is moving perfectly along with the pink circle, which forces the dotted line on the other end of the joint to move around because of the blue dotted line. the middle dotted line may seem random, but once you look at the dotted lines it's connected, too, the movement makes sense. Kind of like how train wheels are connected.

It's following it's mirror image. The pink dot on the outside of the pink circle is creating a 'flower' pattern, and the red dot is doing the same, but using the inside walls of the blue circle as a reference point. Because the blue circle is moving, it isn't creating a flower, but a heart. A really sloppy heart.

Its in polar coordinates

I think the red dot is following its own path which happens to be contained in the male's circle at all times. It's some sort of cartioid which can be expressed simply in polar coordinates with sines or cosines. I'm fairly certain that this is just a work of art created with various polar paths that are independent of one another. The central 5 petaled object is actually called a rose.

After looking at it for ten minutes, I have deduced that the red line is following a dot that moves side to side inside of the male symbol.

starting to think it's just ******** in science-wrappings.
