The earth is, approximately, 4.54 billion years. That's all well and good, but I don't quite think most people fully understand the enormity of the number. 4.54 billion. To try to give you a better idea, first think of a second. Just one second. Really short amount of time, right? Well, how long do you think one billion seconds is?
I'll tell you, it's:
31 Years
8 Months
11 Days
7 hours
46 Minutes
And 40 seconds.
Give or take, based on things like when you started and other factors like orbital wobble and flux capacitors and wibbly-wobbly timey-whimey stuff. So what does all this mean? Well, it means that 4.54 billion seconds is:
143 Years
10 Months
11 Days
0 hours
15 minutes
26 seconds.
Again, approximately.
But you get the idea. It would take you almost 144 years to have lived the number of seconds that the Earth has lived in YEARS. The oldest recorded person was 122 years and 164 days when she died (Jeanne Calment). So, as far as we can tell, no human has ever lived a number of seconds comparable to the age of the earth in years.
The earth is fuckin' OLD!
