I don't see how tachyons, even if they do exist, could help with space travel. The theory behind them is that an object can be moving faster than light, but can't accelerate to speeds faster than light, so any object above that speed must have always been so fast.

Hyperspace travel?? :D Accelerate to like 99.99999% of the speed of light, then switch the propulsion to tachyons to go faster or something? :)

the only thing that comes to mind when I think space travel is space exploration, and the Higgs Mechanism. I myself dont know enough about it, but hypothetically speaking, if one can manipulate the higgs field, one is able to basically teleport, but it's basically moving to a different location at the speed of light.
