Also, another partial reason for its collapse was the War in Afghanistan, in which you funded the insurgents... the insurgents you're fighting now... in the war that has destroyed your economy.

It wasn't so much nationalism, so much as capitalism v. communism. If it hadn't been for Stalin, I would have supported the Soviet Union entirely. Lenin truly cared for the people, Stalin didn't.
