Other way around, the half-life of C-14 is around 5730 years, so anything less than around 500 years (if memory serves) is going to give bad results.

If the half life of c-14 is a few thousand years, then how could it not be accurate? C-14's half life is 5,000 some odd years, and this is 32,000 years, how could it not be accurate?

exactly, it's supposed to be the older something is, the less accurate the results, and even then it's only off by a couple million years on something as old as about 68 million years old.
