I really want to build one of these now and somehow hook it up to this flashlight with a crank that I have.

these are all fake and powered.
first machine: black bit contains a small powered propeller, at the bottom of the tube.

second machine: table is tilted, you can observe acceleration occurring, which requires a force acting upon the object. if it were a true perpetual motion machine, no external forces would need to be applied.

third machine: the rollers contain battery-powered motors in them, which require a small push to start.

the fourth machine is so blatantly fake that I'm surprised anyone on here believed it. there's a motor turning the wheel. you can even tell simply by looking at it that it's the wheel's motion that's causing the metal balls to move, as opposed to the motion of the balls causing the wheel to move. Every time the wheel jerks, the balls change position slightly after the initial jerk.

the fifth and sixth machines, the overbalanced wheels, are in the same boat as the previous machine. motor-powered.

I'm shocked that people were stupid enough to believe any of these things. I'm fairly certain the video was either made mockingly or to simply demonstrate what the machines would look like if they actually worked.

The video itself has the title "(hypothetical)" in it. These are just ideas. Not that they'd work, but more of a wonder at what science may be one day. Wasn't even meant to convince people it was real to begin with.

yes, I saw the title, but then I read the comments and realized people were actually believing these worked.

These could work, given that no energy is taken out of the equation, by any means, especially through friction, which is the most likely that I see in these machines.

Of course, we have no friction less surfaces or substances, so for now, these couldn't work, and could never be used as energy sources from my understanding.

yes, but that applies to any already-moving frictionless object in a vaccum. in that sense, the machines in the video don't have anything special going for them.

the reason these don't actually work is because friction will cause them to eventually stop (although they may go for a long time). the exception being the water one. that one will go until the water evaporates.
