I will keep it short:
>Captain Dawg (me)
nah just kidding about that.

>Average sent to Mars to find signs of life
>After several successful UAV missions, they send humans
>Humans say "f*ck that, let's go beyond" (hence the human will for knowledge and curiosity)
>First shuttle to thrust off Mars into the Unknown (Universe) in search for e.t. life.
>Remove the cliches of space battles and evil aliens and the common will to takeover the aliens or aliens to take us over.
>Find friendly aliens (Idk how you will make them communicate with each other but sign language would be a good start, or through musical sounds).
>Return to Earth several generations later (note that the knowledge of Terra was passed on through generations of humans coexisting with Aliens)
>Find Earth invaded by the same species humans coexisted with.
>Rebellion and taking back what's ours.
:D I wrote that on a notebook 10 years ago, use it with pride, Sir !

In a desperate attempt to find mor oil for the world supply, the UN and other nations decide to try out deep-earth drilling to find oil that would otherwise be unreachable by normal means.

They find an underground civilizaton that did not know of the humans existence, and thrshes back, claiming the planet as their own.

Humanity is fighting a losing war and decides to retreat into space, desperately trying to form another colony and another planet.

This story can be in the point of view of a solider, family, or a switch between both. Also, adding aliens that like shoot down tons of colony ships leaving only a few would be cool.

open for sequels if you want to continue a story.

>Post-apocalyptic backdrop
>Underground survivors have been de-sensitised as a result of many generations of brutal survival tactics
>The human mind has thrived from the maintenance of vast databases of information, but the harsh nature of supply management and survival has eliminated almost all emotion from the human psyche
>Technology is booming far beyond what had been imagined before
>Net energy gains obtained from infant farming (burning for energy that outweighs the incredibly advanced cloning procedure that requires very little input and resource)
>Protagonist lives in one such colony, and is faced with a particularly vocal farm subject
>Sliver of pity tugs at him/her, realises the inhumanity of humanity
>Slips out and runs away in to the wasteland
>Finds others who have survived above ground since the open world's end
>Plagued by radiation, storms, mutated creatures, you name it. This isn't Fallout, the world is literally in a constant state of danger. No protection and the open air will kill you in minutes. If not, something else will. Protagonist has only survived from what tech and gear they managed to take from home, and was lucky to find help in time.
>Gradual exposure has mutated and strengthened open wanderers. A much better balance of brain and brawn than those who hide underground (they are not clever, but they are not stupid)
>Open wanderers want to find refuge underground
>Protagonist sees a new future for a "true" humanity, one that can still feel and think like they used to
>Large-scale assault to drive out underground dwellers
>Story should be not be done in a black-and-white, good-vs-evil way. There are a lot of grey areas

I wanted to make something similiar to this, in a full-scale novel. I want to see how someone else would write it in short form. Who knows, I might get on to it. My actual idea isn't exactly like this, but it's close to. There are a few major differences, but the principle within the story is intact.

The year 3000, a hole in our universe rips open, and one man is in a state of depression, he fly's through the anomaly and into another universe, where there is a giant living ball, with one eye and billions of tentacles, who falls in love with the man. It attaches a tentacle to his neck and makes him believe it loves him too. Not content with this, the creature floats back through the anomaly and attaches a tentacles to every inhabitant, man or beast, all bar 1. A cyclops from another planet. She eventually convinces the population they are being used by revealing a dark secret that the creature is hiding from them.

There is this space ship see, and it has this five year mission. The mission is to seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before. The crew is pretty crazy. It has a white captain (of course) but even has Asians and Black people working on it. And an alien, but that makes sense. He looks like us but with bigger ears. Anyways they go through lots of zany adventures cruising through the Universe. The rest practically writes itself. Oh yea. They also have a major rule, they call it the "Prime Directive". It says they are not allowed to interfere with the natural social evolution of any life they encounter, and boy does that make things difficult for them sometimes. And sexy green alien chicks the captain sleeps with in every story. Can't forget that.

>The world is now 3000, humans now live on foreign planets due to the fossil fuel and planet crisis of the 22th century, only a minor proportion of the planet survived. Leaving only the strongest, brightest or are the least the lucky alive. Out of the remaining population only 10% is that of males, humans are now dieing out.
>The protagonist of the story is neither the strongest or brightest of the human's that survived the early years, he was by chance picked up by one of the leading scientists to escape since he looked exactly like her dead son.
>New problem arrives within that humans are now starting to encounter other lifeforms in the universe, however all but a few of these are extremely hostile.
>However they cannot engage in open conflict with humanity since the U.D.F (Universe Defensive Force), has banned all major conflicts within the universe.
>This doesn't mean entire races haven't been wiped out due to corruption of the U.D.F or underhanded methods for killing entire planets/races.
>Majors factions are; Humans, U.D.F, Gluttirons and Bellums.
> Gluttirons are the scourge of the galaxy, a self evolving race that consumes all and every other lifeform. They have no appearance since each evolution is unique, however they does seem to be different variants.
>Bellums are simply the warmongers of the galaxy, a highly evolved race of golem looking beings. Obscenely ugly and strong, however many lack brains due to the advanced cloning methods to produce such huge armies.
>Humans are now setlling into the galaxy, however they have had many minor conflicts with Bellums and now are starting to getting into a larger war with them.
>Que epic war scenario, where the protagonist after a life and death situation has discovered that he isn't infact human and is infact a hybrid of all species in the universe, created specially by the maker to restore balance.
>Bellums are subdued and Gluttirons are wiped out. Humanity restores itself and peace remains once again.

It all starts off in a town called Denmont. Its a really nice town where the people who run the town are the descendants of the original founders. Well, theres a girl named Rayne and her best friend Mikaylah, they are at school one day and theres a new guy in town. His name is Gauge. Gauge is REALLY hot and Rayne is one of the best looking girls in the town. She doesnt find herself to be very attractive so shes really shy. Well gauge takes interest in her, but Mikaylah likes Gauge so hes off limits to Rayne.
Well one day Gauge asks Rayne on a date and Rayne says yes, despite what Mikaylah thinks. Mikaylah and Rayne split up..blah blah... and then crazy **** happens to where Gauge reveals he is awerewolf to Rayne and Rayne is a descendant of the most prestigious werewolf hunting clans.

TL;DR
Gauge and Rayne like eachother until they find out that Gauge is a werewolf and Rayne is a descendant of a werewolf hunting clan.

No dicks in space? Alright.

Fascist women's rights activists have developed a way to finally exterminate men while still being able to reproduce. They kill male babies, but there is a small group of women hiding that they have had male babies to save their lives.
