Say science somehow proves that jesus's body was stolen from the tomb and has real evidence to prove it. Like, idk maybe they found and identified bones belonging to jesus in a different tomb or something.

You would literally have to be a retard to continue to believe that he was resurected just because a book says so.

I have a feeling most reasonable christians would adapt their belief system to accomodate this, probably going the "metaphorical" route. Which has actually been done before. Hell, about half the parables are now considered "metaphorical" because science has proved they could not have actually happened.

I think Buddhism is the only religion that is respected and admired by everyone, regardless of your own religion. That doesnt make sense.

The reason everyone respects Buddhism is because it is completely unassuming, humble, self-effacing and respectful to all people of all religions. (I'm not looking for the 1-2 individuals throughout all history who may debunk this assertion.)

Instead of the vast majority of the world just all being appreciative of Buddhism why the **** don't they and all the other religions out there (inc atheism which i am. not like those arseholes that shove it down your throat and claim it's its own religion. No atheism is NOT it's own religion. That would be the epitome of irony. I just dont believe in a god.) just practice what the Buddhists preach and just ******* chill!?

So much more important things to worry about in the world than who believes the hardest in a spirit upstairs. Like why the **** does my wifi run slow in the bathroom? will I ever make time to start to watch GoT? Is it really possible if i move to hollywood and bump into a hot movie star like scarlett johansson and act all 'i dont even know who you are, i'll treat you like everyone else, that she'll find that intriguing and jump me in the street? Will i ever open these £100 work out DVDs i bought a year ago? and who the **** is joshlol?

By time his second comment he proved how worthy he was of my attention span... does not mean i did not want to poke and prod at him further to see if he was being more of a moron than he realises or a clever troll.

My care factor is well below 0.
If i cared what people on the internet thought i would not get very far in life.

And if you look down you will see a bunch of people arguing over what the contrast between Wisdom and Knowledge means.

Or in D&D terms:

Knowledge is Book smarts
Wisdom is Street smarts.

Here's a short story my chinese dad told me that kinda makes me think of buddhism as a cooler religion:

There once was a man who wanted nothing more than to meet Guanyin (the lotus flower lady disciple of buddha). He walked to Guanyin's temple and after a long journey finally found her. He asked her: "Guanyin, everytime i've prayed for something, everytime i've longed for anything, i've prayed to you. Tell me, who do you pray to? Do you pray for buddha?" Guanyin answered "No, i pray to Guanyin". "But you are Guanyin!" replied the man. "Yes, and when longing for something it is better to look towards yourself than towards someone else"

silly story, the ol' dad's still atheist, but hey it shows a little more progressiveness than what organized religion back in the west used to be like back in the day. It kinda surprised me.

Isn't that in christianity?

Sounds a lot like Catholic? pretty sure it is, sounds like something they'd do indulgences.

Not... really. Not that I have seen at least. I live in an area where a majority are christians, as well as a larger part of my family, and they all have had the attitude of "god will provide"
Theres this really expensive christian college close to where i live, and the students there are just incurring a **** ton of debt. And most literally dont give any ***** because somehow god will take care of it all what they actually said themselves

I respect buddhism. the ideals of peace and prosperity for one and all is nice compared to how other religions mask restriction and faith as control and glory as opposed to discipline and such.

oh some buddhist groups can be violent assholes though, but they're tiny groups of frowned upon weirdos
