Did you even read that? That requires heat flow. One side has to be cold, and it only has a 5-8% efficiency. You can't generate electricity from heat alone, only from temperature change.

he asked how you get electricity from heat. a steam turbine could have been just as valid of an answer. thermoelectric is the closest we have to converting heat directly.

it could also be closer to skin level. thus allowing the temp differences. or heat could be supplied by radioisotope decay.

Yeah, yeah, that's what he literally asked for, but it's not the thread solution. Temperature differences within the body would be too slight to provide much power, and it seems dangerous to use radioisotope thermoelectric generators as implants, but apparently they have been used before, so I'll give you that.

Probably a battery. Pacemakers can run for a very VERY long time before needing to open the chest and replace the battery. I think pacemakers now can even last a lifetime, not sure though.
