I remember one of the older versions of the app would let you close it. I don't know why they removed it.

It's good to know it's not my phone being a piece of **** .

Not to kill the mood but even though it would keep beating your cells would still degenerate. So really I do not see the advantage. It is cool though.

I strongly believe that if there is ever a way to immortalize a person, it would become forbidden. As the effect it would have on the level of our population would be catastrophic.

With how much it would cost, I don't think that would be a problem, more the problem is now rich assholes will never die.

User avatar #110 to #109 - zuel (05/09/2014) [-]
maybe zombies of animals that only need the brainstem alive to function, but with humans you'd end up with a vegetable

I think there are a lot of [cititation needed] but from what I understand, this means you can live forever. Right? Because I'm somewhat interested.

Okay so there seem to be a lot of people saying that now you can live forever because of this but not quite. It is more of a pacemaker that is designed to keep the heart beating when the SA nodes and other natural pace makers fail to keep up. All it does is release the electrical impulse to tell the heart that it's time to contract.

Theres tons of other steps involved in the actual contraction other then the electrical impulse. All the impulse does is signal the brain to release the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine which will cause depolarization and repolarization which releases the Ca+ which in turn will set the whole filament sliding action of contraction in motioin. What causes the heart to stop sometimes is not the actual electrical impulse malfunction (although it can be) but a malfunction in the muscle tissue itself, making the heart unable to physically contract.

This sleeve will be useful when the heart goes into ventricular Fibrillation, as it can work much like an AED, but much like an AED, it cannot restart the heart after it has completely stopped.

It is a breakthrough, and it can potentially prevent quite a few heart attacks. But I'm afraid immortality is still a long way from us. Not to mention that even if we do keep our heart pumping, other organ failures would still kill us.

**xxjmacxx rolled image** Just because your heart is beating, doesnt mean your brain isn't deteriorating.
