Yeah, thankfully I only work with video game art so I don't have to take all too long rendering things - I can do most things in real time :D

That looks really good, what program do you use for your stuff? I'm using blender because i want to get money for the things i make, but that looks like 3DS Max / Maya?

I used blender! Being a poor student, I don't have a whole lot of funds.

Also, sorry to say but dont listen to Heartofthedl, i did myself just the student version of maya, and 3ds max, but you cannot use what you make to sell, so unless your doing it because you wanna for fun, i would stick with blender.

If you want to sell yeah don't go for maya. Student version is still a pretty good program to use none the less and it's also good to have working knowledge of the other 3d programs out there. If you are using it for educational purpose then maya is excellent if the uni/school supports it.
If you want to sell and don't have the money then blender is the program to go to. I know you aren't trying to insult or say it but if felt like you were saying I was out right wrong.

But yeah 99% of the things modelers do would be useless for maya and 3ds because they would be used in some sort of profet, being anything thing from a free to play game where you can buy items, to youtube with partnership.

I wished Autodesk had a better pricing for entry level professionals. 5 grand is a bit pricy for someone just starting up. Then again i guess they would think most of them would be joining a company that will help provide the program/ funds.

So far I've had no luck on job finding, which kind of sucks.

I was going to go to school for modeling, but they want $53,000 not including anything (need your own room, food, travel)

Mine was AUD30,000+ but it's government paid and I will have to pay back when I find a job. I think it's a small percentage of the pay I get so it shouldn't be too bad...then again find a job in Melbourne is pretty tough for a 3d modeller especially when I specialise in character modelling.

For the time being at least. Hehe, I'd love to teach you but I have the foggiest on how to! The internet taught me for the most part. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, so I found the tutorials on how to do it.

Textures suck. The internet is your friend though. Most of the things you see in my pictures were found on the internet, and modified.

Maya/3dsmax is free for students if the uni/collage/school is supported by them. I would reccomend maya though there are people that prefer working in max plus max has a better uv map editor.
