It's called pneumatics

What the hell is gas-power, natural gas?

You are wrong.

It's called a gas-operated bolt so yeah.
User avatar #14 to #12 - betars (07/12/2014) [-]
It's called recoil operation for a reason.

'Pneumatics is a section of technology that deals with the study and application of pressurized gas to produce mechanical motion.' (Wikipedia)

Pneumatics ******* IS the harnessing of gas power. Technically speaking, you aren't wrong; your just being an asshole.

Good job, you were able to quote Wikipedia, because you didn't know anything about gas, apparently.

That's like saying trees and paper are they same thing because they both contain wood or pulp.

No guns are powered by gas, they are powered by mechanically pressurized pneumatics recoil system and the powder inside the cartridge. Pick up a book, not Wikipedia.

Gas provided from the powder, which powers the bolt.
GAS-POWERED.

The 7.62 × 39mm round is powered by the gunpowder or cordite's combustion, ignited by the primer. None of it is "gas-powered". It's backed up by the pneumatic system, sure.

In this instance gas isn't referring to gasoline or any kind of fuel... just... just so you know. It's referring to gas, a substance that fills the volume of its container. There is gas inside of the barrel, there is gas outside of the gun, there is gas in you're butthole. The pneumatics here is just dealing with the pressure of the gas inside of the gun.
Also the post was talking about the reloading system, how the gun readies the next bullet, not how the bullet is ejected itself.

'gas in you're butthole'

+1 mate. I actually chuckled.

I quoted Wikipedia because it provided a concise and nicely worded description. If you can't understand the reason behind quotations then, well, I don't know what to say to you.

Gas is one of the four fundamental states of matter. Any basic science class from elementary school should have taught you that. Is water vapour not a gas just because it's not petroleum? Combustion produces a gas. In fact, if you've taken any sort of general chemistry or biology class, you'll be familiar with the equation for combustion. Here is an example - the chemical formula for combustion of methane: CH4 + 2O2 --> CO2 + 2H2O. In layman's terms, methane combusts with oxygen to form carbon dioxide and water vapour. Guess what? Both carbon dioxide and water vapour are gaseous.

Throw around you're 'recoil-powered' and 'pneumatic system' terminology all you want. But the pneumatic system is itself inherently powered by gas, ******* .

When the propellant is ignited it starts to react the reaction converts the propellant into severel products generally speaking at least one of those products will be a gas, in this case we are not reffering to gas as natural gas(CH4) or gasoline but as any substance in the gas phase which covers a wide variety of substances like Oxygen(O2) Nitrogen(N2) Carbondioxide(CO2) Carbonmonooxide(CO) and Ammonia(NH3)

Fire it in full auto with a 30 round mag and if you plug more then 7 people ill give you a high five.
#13 to #2 - alleksi ONLINE (07/12/2014) [-]
Well the thing is that that is not how your supposed to use it in combat.

In the Finnish Defense Forces (where the Finnish variant, RK 62/RK95 is used) we were taught to only use automatic fire in indoors fire fight or when taking control of a trench.
The gun works best with semi-automatic fire.

though I personally used the PKM and got to full-auto as much as I wanted so ha ha **** you assault rifle plebeians

Well i have mastered firing my custom full-auto denel ntw 20 with a 30 round drum mag. My shoulders are used to it buy now. I also carry a Gau-8 as my sidearm. It's really not that hard if you train right.
User avatar #34 to #17 - oceanmist ONLINE (07/13/2014) [-]
Yeah I used to carry a gau-8 too but it was a little too hard to conceal carry during the summer. I've since moved over to the mk 19.
