it shows where we are in relation to 14 pulsar stars, so an intelligent species should easily be able to triangulate where we are if they figure it out

So far Voyager 1 has 'left the Solar System' by passing through the termination shock three times, the heliopause twice, and once each through the heliosheath, heliosphere, heliodrome, auroral discontinuity, Heaviside layer, trans-Neptunian panic zone, magnetogap, US Census Bureau Solar System statistical boundary, Kuiper gauntlet, Oort void, and crystal sphere holding the fixed stars.

From what I understand the Oort Cloud is the only part of out solar system left that voyager hasn't escaped and will take about 30,000 more years until Voyager has escaped the Sun's gravitational pull.

i am inclined to disagree, both the missions gathered so much valuable data about alot of the outer planets, setting the stage for the future missions we have today, so we didn't just send them out for no reason

Maybe humans are the terrifying aliens in the universe. I mean we can adapt to almost any environment, have ******* years of endurance compared to other animals, can bounce back from wounds that would be utterly fatal to almost anything else, and have the capacity to destroy something just because we were feeling vengeful. Humans are kinda like the slow-motion Wolverines of the animal kingdom due to our hyperactive scar tissue, too. An alien race would send a probe and be like "Man, **** that. Them ****** scary."

not only are we on the verge of space travel, we did it while being in constant conflict with ourselves.
not only are we self destructing, but we spread like wildfire.
If I were an alien race not only would i avoid human beings, I would probably try to develop an extermination protocol incase of human outbreaks or galactic conquest.

Not more intelligent.

The need to Conquer speaks of a high capacity to solve problems and a small capacity to coexist, that is not intelligence.

Intelligence speaks about groups, about unity.
We would be screwed if we find a civilization more advanced than us in terms of weaponry, technology and Smartness...
However, if we find a far more advanced race out there, it would be beneficial for us.

yeah, but maybe we'll find them, and go to their planet. we probably couldn't do it now, but that doesn't mean others would be able to before us.
I mean, somewhere in the universe, there's probably a million more advanced races, but in our galaxy, we may be the top, or at least near it.

I think back in the 70's, we sent a capsule out with extensive information on the human race, or society, our culture, our anatomy, everything, and sent out radio signals too, in hopes of some other alien race finding it. I don't know if it's true or not, I remember my science teacher telling our class this. Maybe he didn't know what he was talking about. idk.

I'm pretty sure that voyager would just burn up in that planets atmosphere.

Besides, with the closest star system being 4.2 light years away from our own planet, voyager wont get close to another planet for many years to come.

anyone ever heard of the "phantom cosmonauts?"
supposedly several radio signals were picked up all across the world, a morse code SO S being sent out, but because of the radio waves (or something like that), they were able to determine that the device broadcasting the signal was coming from a device leaving Earth's orbit. Supposedly this was before the first cosmonaut ever orbited earth. the story goes that the Soviets covered it up. I don't know if it is true or not, but god, that seems so horrifying. Just floating, leaving orbit, sending for help, no one being able to help you. your power going out, then running out of oxygen.... that's ******* terrifying. that means that possibly, somewhere out there, there is a sealed tomb, it's occupants long dead, and frozen in time.

If I remember correctly, none of that was ever disproven, and was actually backed up when the people hacked into **** Gargarin's transmission when he became the "first". They also managed to get into Apollo 11's transmission, which was impressive, considering transmission security had been beefed up specifically to prevent them from doing so
