sometimes those pop culture scientists can say some itchy stuff. I don't wanna be a scientist, carl, don't be like some forceful dad, and no, de grasse, the senate should not be made of astronomers. Come on, guys, not everyone who changes the channel from your show or doesn't read your books asimov is way better anyway is supposedly a slave to the system with no brain.

Would you rather the senate be made up of lawyers who only care about what they can do for themselves with their power without getting into trouble? Im not saying all Senators and lawyers and businessmen are cutthroat monsters only out for themselves, but DeGrasse has a point. There is not a single representative of the scientific community on the Senate, yet the Senate is supposed to make informed decisions about things that often include scientific studies.

He didn't mean every kid litteraly wanted to be a scientists, he mean that kids have a natural curiosity and wonder of the world they live in.

Scientist: "an expert in science, especially one of the physical or natural sciences."

Doesn't say anything about natural curiosity or wonder.

If you've ever sat down with one, and asked what a scientist does, they will tell you,

"Study the world around them."

I guess that's what anon was getting at.

I don't know

Only gif close to a scientist.

People often embellish their profession when confronted with questioning youth.

Like if a police officer explained he defended the weak from villainy.

I see your point, but isn't the guy doing just that in the post?

He's garnishing his profession in the post. Just as you said.

Yeah, but, let's be real here:

The idea of all kids, in their own way, being a scientist is kind of a far-off shot.

It is. But he's just adorning it to an outlandish extent.
