allows 99% of the light to pass right through

1/10, would not buy

read the article it actually bends the ultraviolet and in-fared rays and collects the energy at the parameters of the glass. Please don't make claims you can't back up

Looks can be deceiving, it only effects light that isn't visible. Visible light passes through, everything else is refracted to the edges.

The efficiency of solar panels in general is so **** it would take 0.07% of the US's land mass covered in them to power the entire grid. And they are expensive as **** too. Really they are a waste of money unless there is no alternative.

i bet if we could convert more bands/higher bands of the spectrum we could make more electricty.

There are particles of Dark Matter that penetrate the Earth called Neutrinos. If we could figure out how to absorb them and generate energy, then we would solve the energy crisis for several decades. Still, I would aim for fusion. Nuclear energy has the best output and efficiency than anything else except hydroelectric. Neutrinos are insanely hard though to detect though because they blend in with light, yet they can go completely through the earth and light can't.

>implying we can prove dark matter exists
>implying we can catch a neutrino

Dark Matter is the only theory that keeps everything in physics together, because something keeps the stars together and the Universe's acceleration increasing. All the theories saying the Universe would slow down and condense again have been proven false due to the Universe actually increasing in speed. Neutrinos do eventually get absorbed, but they don't behave with physical matter. If there was a panel that could absorb a neutrino and convert it to energy, it could do it at night. Just face it toward the ground. However since this is all hypothetical the chances this could be done are none.

that defies the entire purpose of a solar panel
all the light just shines through rather then getting absorbed
******* hell now this sort of **** is just getting dumber and dumber

sorry for knowing how solar panels work and how this clear stuff would never work as one

Clear objects do not absorb light (obviously) and therefore cannot convert light into electrical current. The image is a clear LENS that concentrates light onto a small solar panel so that you get more energy per unit of surface area of photovoltaic cell...

The point is that they are used in places where you want light to go through, like windows or skylights, but at the same time they turn some of it into energy. They're not for covering your roof like normal solar panels. And solar panels are not a waste of money. They're an investment. As soon as they've produced enough energy to save you what you payed for them in energy costs, they start making you money.
