The sun isn't even close to finishing its life cycle yet. When the sun expands to a Red Giant then it will engulf the Earth. Jupiter will become the new Mercury. Then it'll go to whatever stage is after that. It may or may not super nova but either way by the time it dies the Earth will be long gone.
