What if it's actually finite, but we just haven't reached the last decimal yet?

Pi is an irrational number created by humans as a shortcut to understanding circles. It actually doesn't exist except in the minds of humans.

So if you convert it to code, Half Life 3 is in there somewhere.

Yeah we get it. We know what "infinite" means.

So... life is a circle.

That means Hinduism is right. Life will repeat itself... hence their theory of reincarnation.

That can be said about every irrational number, not just pi

just because it is an infinite number, how does that mean that life experiences are contained within it? they are numbers.. Just numbers
User avatar #128 to #127 - TheMather ONLINE (04/03/2013) [-]
Because data consists of numbers, so a computer can translate the number into a meaningless infinite picture or string of text.

The number of possibilities for ten separate digits to make one 10 digit number is 10^10 or 10,000,000,000. On average mashing my keyboard yields approximately 100 numbers in 10 seconds, which is 10 numbers per second. There are 86,400 seconds in a day and 31,536,000 seconds in a year. Average life expectancy is 75 here in the U.S. which gives me 2,365,200,000 seconds in a lifetime. At ten digits per second I could type 20,365,200,000 digits in a lifetime, which is more than double the possibilities. I understand that the chances of me getting each possible combination are extremely slim but hypothetically it could be done.
