i understand why he couldn't just come out and say he was gay but why couldn't he ask one girl he was cool with to pretend to be his girlfriend. maybe one who lived far enough away from where he currently was that no one would ask questions but hew could still refer too by having them speak to her when they eventually did. even better just pretend that some girl hurt him so he didn't feel like really dating. or even better than that just say he wasn't interested in the girls that were coming on to him. just so many other choices
