I can't wait until our top end PCs will look like overpriced pieces of ***** compared to the stuff that will be available later.
#11 to #2 - morebuckets (08/17/2015) [-]
They do...every single year
User avatar #20 to #11 - thebaseballexpert (08/18/2015) [-]
a couple of bucks does not compute to "over priced pieces of **** "

the same computer components i bought almost 2 years ago are only collectively $300 cheaper now than they were. Considering my whole system cost ~$1400, it's really not as significant as 30 year to go from $6000 to $1400
#36 to #20 - anon (08/18/2015) [-]
You mean $6000 to less than $100 because those parts would cost less than $100 together if you could even still find them.
#54 to #20 - morebuckets (08/18/2015) [-]
It's only been a year, and my computer has already dropped like 700 dollars in value
User avatar #28 to #20 - colegaleener (08/18/2015) [-]
haaaa I spent 650 and I can probably outperform you
User avatar #29 to #28 - twondai (08/18/2015) [-]
that's quite a broad assumption
what are your specs?
User avatar #32 to #29 - colegaleener (08/18/2015) [-]
i3-4160, asus h87 something or other, gtx 960 2gb, 8 gigs of 1600 mhz ram

okay maybe not totally outperforming you but im happy with what I have

extremely happy
User avatar #33 to #32 - colegaleener (08/18/2015) [-]
and btw it was a z97, not h87. my baaad.

i7-4970k, msi 97 gaming 5, titan x, 32gb ram, eat **** , 800€
User avatar #51 to #48 - colegaleener (08/18/2015) [-]
haha yeah right. you must have gotten the five finger discount if you spent less than 1000 usd on that. a titan x alone is 1500 usd.
User avatar #53 to #51 - masterjogi (08/18/2015) [-]
no but i got the titan as a promotin article last gamescom
#52 to #28 - thebaseballexpert (08/18/2015) [-]
I swear. PC elitists are the worst kind of people. "PCs are much better that platforms", "I spent less and can out perform you", "AMD is only for cheap builds that suck in every aspect"

Do I care that you spent less than me and can out perform my system? I couldn't care less.
User avatar #55 to #52 - colegaleener (08/18/2015) [-]
you do, though. you care enough to comment.

back in the early 70's my grandpa was a contractor for the army and he worked with computers.
and he always tells this story about the day they got the new 5K drive, and all of the programmers he worked with were all wondering how in the world they were going to fill up a 5k drive.
now i hear they are announcing a petabyte hard drive and im just like, how in the world am i going to fill up a petabyte drive.

weird how stuff does that.
#12 to #8 - morebuckets (08/17/2015) [-]
>PB hard drive

Hard drives have begun maxing out at ~30 TBs, it's flash storage from here on out until IBM gets that magnetic drive working
User avatar #23 to #8 - misterred (08/18/2015) [-]
Well, we have much more porn now
#10 to #8 - fragman (08/17/2015) [-]
except it's not weird and like 10 years ago we couldn't imagine to use terabyte disks... I already know I'd probably fill a 1 PB disk within one year of purchase
#38 to #10 - anon (08/18/2015) [-]
How much porn do you download a day!? Jeez you probably hooked a flesh light up to a fan to Jack you off.
User avatar #44 to #38 - mondominiman ONLINE (08/18/2015) [-]
Some guy did that once, twisted his dick. He even took pictures, **** was gross
#42 to #38 - fragman (08/18/2015) [-]
remember when the best movie quality available used to fit on a DVD?
Or when a game had 2 install CDs?

Not only the space we get increases, the amount of data for standard use also increases similarly quickly.

I have over 300 porn pics and it's like 90 mbs. I really don't use a lot of space.

She's a little to happy after her city was just bombed, don't you think? Some people just want to watch the world burn.
User avatar #19 to #9 - artyomthebadass (08/18/2015) [-]
She won't happy for long. Coming out into ground zero she will most likely suffer the effects of "the atomic plague" and more than likely died several weeks after this photo

This image is to show what happened, it's not saying "oh my god look at these poor souls blah blah blah"
User avatar #16 to #14 - flemmi (08/17/2015) [-]
I not saying that this picture is not sad but if OP wanted to use a picture about the second world war this is pretty low on the scale. She is still able to read her book. still alive. the shop is not burned out it looks like just a wall is missing. During the war entire cities were razed. But OP used this picture to show the victims of the "Luftkrieg" someone who is barely damaged in the overall picture.

thats why i feel that the picture is not the best choice. OP could have had more than that.
#25 to #16 - anon (08/18/2015) [-]
it's just to give a perspective...
it's not about showing the worst outcomes as a result but looking into the world at the time. We've all seen more of the nasty stuff. The pictures with people going about their lives are just as intriguing.
