The fuck man, are you retarded?. Im one of the best FITASC shooters ''claypigeon shooting'', in norway and wtf we shoot targets flying in the air 60-80 meters away with birdshots thats rough 229 feet. And normal targets at 65-114 feet

Are you using a full choke? Because that's a huge factor on how accurate your gun is.

well okay. But a clay pigeon is not equal to a human skull, not at all. what you want when zombie killing is not just a headshot, but destruction of the brain, which shuts them down completely. so although you can shoot a clay pigeon from 60m with a shotgun, you can't kill a zombie from that far away. A rifle is more accurate, and the ammo is easier to carry, because it's more compact.

You might want to go for something a little stealthier, assuming the zombies are capable of tracking a sound.

Come at me bro, That's how I detress, I take my 20g out back and put off about 20 shells, and go clean my gun. The point of zombie killing is to destroy the brain, and if you're using birdshot, that's just not going to cut it, especially if your target is about 100 feet away. I'll stick to my 30-06 rifle for something like that, and use a shotgun only if I have to.

I convert a 2-3/4 target load into a wax slug and get pretty accurate shots at 75-100 yds once i account for drop. Cheap, easy, (mostly) reliable.

they are amazing accurate within a 40yd range, and at impact, the wax basically disintegrates and then the shot that it was holding together projects in all directions, kind of like a little explosion of sorts. MASSIVE DAMAGE with pretty good accuracy.

Everything I know of guns was learned and researched by me on my own. I had nobody to teach me aside from 1 friends Dad who took me shooting sometimes. I learn about guns because of my love for them. I don't think I'm a bad ass when it comes to guns or a know it all, but I know a good bit and know y our comment was wrong.

The effective range of a shotgun is well over 5 feet, and a head shot would be much easier to achieve given the radius of the pellets, but for longer distances a .22 would be ideal

I'm glad that you feel that way, but although a head shot is what you want, you need to destroy the brain. just because a few bird pellets landed in the head does not ensure a destroyed brain.

If you're using bird shot I agree you won't get much penetration. But a 12 gauge packing a heavy load would crack a skull no problem

That's true for sure, at that point you should just use a rifle. But for urban settings where you are facing numerous zombies at fairly close range the shotgun would be the most effective choice

While .22 is effective, a shotgun, at relatively close range, loaded with flechette shells (which are legal in some areas), has a wider area of effect and all you need is for one dart to hit the skull, as it would penetrate, with several fragments of bone, thus multiplying it's lethal potential. And since it fires multiple darts at once, multiple threats can be eliminated with a single shot. You have a valid point, but it's not really correct, not fully.

i guess a conversion would be nice and yea the fake suppressor is pointless but its for aesthetics. and then there is the fact that this shotgun falls under the other 80% of the weapons we own that that are only purchased so he can resale them for profit. so paid $800 for it as is along with a longer mag and a drum mag sold it for $2000. see when there is profit I much less my gunsmith can find it withing ourselves to give shits

Reminds me of when I bought my IZ-240. The lady selling it was a total bitch. When she boxed it up she accidentally put a Saiga-12 in the box (they don't even look similar?) which costs hundreds more. Had I not had such a craving for surplus 5.45mm goodness I would've walked away from her booth, made up a sign for advertisement and sold it for an instant profit.
Honestly, now that I'm thinking it over, I'm a total dumbass for not doing that. I guess since she has the only 240 in the gun show I was panicking trying to get it.
