the gun is made of pretty much full of iron (or was it steel) so it can take a beating of any kind.... we even use it to smash things...

The Kalashnikov series are probably the best weapons ever produced, even if dirt and stuff like that went into it's barrels and stuff like that it would still work. It's also one of the reasons why the americans had such a hard time fighting in Vietnam, since the Vietnamese climate isn't suited for most weapons what so ever, their mavericks broke or jammed constantly while the vietcongs ak 47's could withstand everything.

Why are you being thumbed down? "Basically none" does not mean you never have to clean the thing.
Just because you don't need to doesn't mean you shouldn't.
You should clean every gun at least once a day, even an AK.
AKs are notorious for jamming and cleaning it once a day easily prevents that.

AKs are the glocks of the rifle world. FAMOUSLY reliable. As in, clean with hot water and soap reliable.

Depends on where you are actually. Out in the desert or forest or even woods, an AK will jam.
Obviously not as often as most firearms, but they are notorious for jamming in the shit when you need them most.
In the middle of a populated area, there's not as much dirt or debris to find its way into the chamber to cause it to jam.

im guessing the people who made the claim that aks are notorious for jamming are the people thatput it through the worst conditions and never clean it. the people who give the claim that it never needs cleaned are usually serviceman who are used to cleaning a weapon regularly

Nein, zum Glück beim ersten Üben mit K-Mun. Beim Scharfschießen wars halt blöd für ihn weil auf die 300m der erste Schuss immer daneben gegangen ist. Auf die kurze Distanz wurde bei ihm dann zur Sicherheit der Ausbildner verzichtet ^^

Meine war ein wenig neuer aus dem 94er Jahr, dafür hab ich Verbandszeug von 87 ausgefasst. Das musste ich dann in Allentsteig verwenden und hab dann sogar eines von 84 bekommen. Und beim Abrüsten wieder zurückgeben xD

what language do they speak there? I know its part of Norway, but I would still find it strange if everybody speaks norwegian. that might be because I dont know enything about Svalbard and I think that everyone there is "samer" and they play with bears all day. I am proberly wrong...

the official language is norwegian, and most people that work there need to be able to speak it, except for the university people and the people working with the tourist, still, it is full of people from all over the world so it is not strange hearing people speaking spanish, thai, russian, serbian and so on. there is a russian settlement some kilometers west for the main town
