In Britain, firearms murders are 30 times fewer than in the US per capita. Adopt a sensible firearms policy or continue to see the lives of thousands of people lost every year.

USA population (311,591,917) divided by UK population (62,641,000) = 4.974

So for every person residing in the UK there are almost 5 people living in the USA.

The amount of UK deaths by firearms in 2010 was 58. Times this by 5 to make to scale to the equivalent if the UK had as similar population to the USA = 290

Actual USA deaths by firearms in 2010 = 8,775

America, I implore you to listen, you are doing it so very, very wrong.

That really shows just how ridiculous it all is in America. I'm not entirely convinced that their gun laws are entirely to blame, but they're definitely getting something wrong.

Culture has a big part in it, too. Look at Japan, their gun laws are almost (if not the) strictest in the world. Their crime is extremely low. It's because their culture is much different than Western culture.

So you are saying that if population increases 5 times, gun deaths should increase 30 times. I just find that so hard to believe. Please give me some sort of statistic.

If you add both north and south Europe together you get around 260 million people. The gun related homicides for the two regions is 3101. USA IS STILL 8,775. Does 40 million more people really constitute an extra 5674 deaths. REALLY?

I'm saying that if you compare a small country (or a few small countries) like Britain, and you compare THEIR crime rate to a country 5 times bigger than them, the smaller country's crime rate will be smaller.

Britain: a great place to live if you'd rather be stabbed repeatedly than shot.

Adam Lanza killed his own mother, who was a gun fanatic and had plenty of weapons (that's where he got them in the first place), it didn't save her now did it? But please tell me how owning guns makes you safer.

so weapons are only useful when you get a warning? Tell me again how criminals stick to morals.

Exactly, tell me how criminals follow morals. Firearms give law-abiding citizens a fighting chance in a world where criminals don't give a damn about laws or restrictions. Criminals will ALWAYS have guns, no matter what you can do.

no,when my house got broken into i wasn't ready. but i still defended my self by grabbing my nagant and shooting the ****** in the thigh. but in that situation it would be the equivalent of your best friend or gf coming in and shooting you in the head after they say "hey how are you? thats great now die"

oh ok, guess she just had to be awake then to be safe. And have a gun ON her. AND know what was gonna happen. Yeah, good case for more guns.

Considering the average crime per week committed with guns is just under 500 and the average amount of times per week guns thwart crime is about 12,000. I'd have to say it makes alot of peoples lives safer.

She was murdered by her own son. Her son, someone hes probably trusted. Not a stranger that obviously came into her house invited with intent to harm her.
Also this is no way disproves that owning guns can save your life. I can just as easily go through the internet and find a story on gun ownership can and has saved lives, oh wait, I already have.
www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pkWgp2abM2w
And this is in the state with the most gun control.

Breaking news, An armed gunman attacked and killed 10 people at a comic book store said no newspaper ever. Does this mean comic books protect us?

Well you could argue that those who would be likely to visit a comic book store at the age people often snap, would be the least likely to cause a snap. When was the last time you saw people in a comic book store emotionally or mentally abusing another person for being different or weird? Use your own common sense to draw the dotted lines.
