Molot's modern SKS. It would be really nice to see newly built SKS's on the market. Too bad I was born after the era of the 60 dollar SKS. MAybe with a 10 round SKS modern new russia

I personally prefer the SKS as an original, internal mag and original wooden stock, too bad I can't find a decent Russian one, only ****** old norinco's.

I bought a norinco a while back an it had an ugly ATI synthetic stock on it. It was bulky, heavy, and it had this horrible scope mount that allowed you to use the iron sights but was almost obstructive and gave a limited sight picture. I would almost kill for an original Russian red. Molot also has newly manufactured Mosins in the original configuration and SKS's in the original confirguration. Very nice handy rifles.

I would love an SKS, just as a decent rifle with a good caliber that I could through in the back of the truck and not worry about it breaking

I was going to put a wood stock on the norinco and try to find a similar dust cover but I thought of it as too much work so I just traded it out. It was a handy rifle, but too heavy and inauccurate for my taste.

I would mainly use it as a got shooting rifle, or for any other general purposes, it would definitely NOT be my choice for precise hunting

I agree and people bitch so much about how it wasn't of target rifle standards. I was reading a page yesterday about how american 7.62X39 was .308 in diameter and the old chinese import was .310 and that's why the SKS got a bad rap with accuracy. If I could find one in good condition with not a lot of bubbaing I would love to pick it up, but right now that might be unlikely.
