FML post from reddit. Obviously not OC.

Today, I work for Youtube, and a video of Nyan Cat was flagged for pornography. I was assigned to
watch the whole thing to terify. I only got to 3 hours so far. FML

He should have recorded himself watching it

I find this to be justice.
Youtube employees flagging videos all the time. Copyright is the worst.

Couldn't fast forward? Would be easy to spot when it no longer shows the same image.

Fake and gay.

Fake.
I read somewhere YouTube have software which just cuts each second down into a separate image, so the whole 10 hours would be broken down to images, all you'd need to do is scroll through them, considering it's Nyan cat, pretty quickly until you see a change in the images.

There is no reason why someone would be assigned to watch the whole thing

I saw this on FML when it was new, but then it was deleted.

even though there is overwhelming proof that this is false in the other comments, i would love to have this happen to me, because that's basically a 10 hour vacation.
User avatar #65 - richardastley (09/15/2013) [-]
Can't they just watch it in fast forward?
User avatar #69 to #65 - vgmddg (09/15/2013) [-]
What if it's only a couple seconds long, not long enough to see when fast forwarded?

Use a better computer that doesn't skip over two whole seconds when only going twice the regular speed.

Last time i checked, youtube had a speed up function.
Waste 5 hours
But your mind will get doubly ****** .

this all started with a guy saying the 'heyyeyyeyyyeyy what is going on' vid should be put inside a file called child porn, so that the feds legally had to watch every second, if i recall
User avatar #54 - thebrownydestroyer (09/15/2013) [-]
I'd just put it on and leave it, it isn't like anyone else is going to watch all of it

Yup, because a massive website like YouTube don't have any software that show individual frames from a video. They just sit there and watch the whole 10 hour video.

"don't have any software that show individual frames from a video." So they just watch the whole video? Baka.
User avatar #66 to #51 - myfourthaccount (09/15/2013) [-]
coming from someone's whose brother is a youtube moderator, they have an encrypted script on every video that is uploaded that separates "unlike" frames from the ones that appear the most. With a 10 hour nyan cat video, which is pretty much one thing repeating itself countless of times, the whole monitoring process takes about 3 seconds. So yeah you are right

You are correct youtube probably has more efficient way to detect malicious videos.

However.. for a company that big they don't half have a lot of bugs with their website. So many times I switch the quality to HD and it bugs out so I have to refresh (now I use an addon to automatically start playing in the highest quality possible).
Not to mention they're changing the layout ALL THE ******* TIME, they leave it alone just long enough for you to become comfortable with it and then change it all making it horrible.
I spent some time writing a script to make youtube black with white text because it's easier on the eyes, was nice and I was happy but then they change the layout and my script is ruined.

Sorry for ranting

So you are saying that youtube, the biggest video sharing site on the internet doesn't have software which can track repetition and flag out anomalies in a repetitive video?
User avatar #67 to #46 - myfourthaccount (09/15/2013) [-]
they do have a script that does that. It is automatically encrypted as the video uploads
User avatar #47 to #46 - fitemeirl (09/15/2013) [-]
He could have done that himself too.
download the video
open it in movie editing software
skip though it at high speed
see if the image changes somewhere
done
