is that your photo?
just kidding, I'm not gay, sorry to disappoint you

BTW it is nice to see someone on FJ doing productive thing like this, I cannot comment much on writing, because i'm not novel critique and nor am I really interested in fantasy novel (anymore), but I think it is good that you make some sketches, and I like novel that comes with illustration in the form of sketch (such as the Leviathan series recently), your drawings are still not really sophisticated for this purpose tho (not that I can draw better) but keep up the good work man

It was a dark night. The moon was hidden behind the thickest clouds I had ever seen. And while I stood there, leaning to a tree beside the road, I could hear a loud scream. It felt like my soul was shattering. Never have I been so scared as I was that night. She was supposed to be there allmost half an hour ago. I remember thinking to myself; "what's could have happened to her?" Truth being told, I don't know even today. She was nowhere to be seen. The scream faded in the dark, as I started walking down the road. I could barely see where I was going, but I knew the road as my own pockets. The moon glanced slightly between the thick dark skies, and that's when I saw it. A stain of blood. And to this day, I never saw the love of my life again.

Not the best fantasy story I guess..

User avatar #262 to #233 - corundum (03/25/2013) [-]
Eragon is the first book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, who began writing at the age of 15. After writing the first draft for a year, he spent a second year rewriting it and fleshing out the story and characters. Paolini's parents saw the final manuscript and decided to self-publish Eragon.

As an aspiring writer of course I want to write an interesting story that can take people to another world and experience fantastical escapism, but I also want to right in order to enhance people's lives. To inspire people to live with my characters and story.

Perhaps you can never fight the dragon, but if got the opportunity to be immersed in that world and journey through it with the characters, what's the real difference? That experience is now a part of you and you are a different person for it.

I only hope my future works are actually good enough to do so, but what I can say is that you live in your own story. In a book the characters often encounter great challenges and adversity, and real life is the same: The problem is that lots of people choose to not take up the sword against the demon king's army.

You can be who you really are, and you can have your own adventures, but as it was said and as history as kept: The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

I loved reading back in elementary and middle school. I used to drag my mom to the school library during summer just to read and read for hours. Too bad it's hard to have spare time to do some free reading during college. And ebooks can suck my dick. Read up while you can, kids.
