I honestly think that someone should start a blog or website where people who have book ideas but aren't willing to write it themselves can compile ideas for authors to use at will.

Start on FanFiction, Wattpad, or any other writing website. They usually have members who will give you feedback to improve your writing.

if your book idea is good enough then you would start learning how to write..

I have only ever read 3 novels my whole life but then I came up with a book idea I believed in so much that now Ive read like 12 more novels so i understand how to write my own book properly. Im nearly finished now... had the book idea since 2010

I plan on writing at least of few of mine, granted I manage to live that long, and by long I mean the next few years.

The fear is incredible, the self doubt crippling, it's hell. However, I think it's better to at least try your hardest. I'm tired of being denied a future... I'm tired of being denied my desires and ambitions by the chains of so called "fate". I think it's best to try. Impossible as it may be, in the end at least you can say that you gave it a shot.

I really love the feeling of writing a book.

Back in 2009, I book idea come up in my mind when I was deaming. The idea was a little bit "classic" and the deam of being an author seems irrealistic, but it turns really well when I stated to write it down (after a pediod of crap).
Now, in 2013, I finished my first book and i'm starting the sequel. I managed to get many "paper version" and I give them to my friends for their opinions and idea.
So far, they all tell my to see a editor.

But like you said, the self doubt and the fear of failing is completly umbarable. It's horrible.
And I don't know if I"m the only one in here feeling that way, but when you write a story, I always feel terrible for the caracters.
The content says it right.

Anyway ("cool story Temzlog"). I'm so proud. You got no idea !

Best advise ever : follow your dreams and give it try !

Bye bye

Ps : I'm not english, so don't laught at my spelling/grammar. Thanks.

I have too many book ideas.

Really, like right now I have three ideas in the works and I'm trying to balance them all out. They're really well thought out too (or at least in my opinion they are) so if I could ever get around to typing them up, they'd probably be at least decent.

But I'm lazy as hell.

I don't want to stole your idea or anything, but hey ! I'm curious !
Private-massage me if it don't bother you.

PS : And I'm no professional writter, but I hope, someday, I will be.

I remember when I was in fifth grade and I dreamed of being a writer, I had all of these ideas in my head for stories. But up until my sophomore year I never did anything, until I finally decided that whats the worse that can happen so I spent the rest of the year, and my entire summer writing this story that I thought was going to be complete garbage, I gave the story to my english teacher so he could proof read it and point out any flaws or any ways that I could improve it and he said that despite a few grammatical errors it was one of his favorite stories. I'm sure he was just being nice to make me feel good about myself, But I guess that it did work because I felt like a good writer. so the moral of the story is, Just do it. whats the worse that could happen.

Tl;dr Go for your dreams, you never know what you could accomplish.

Just give it a go. Everyone's **** at first. If you care to try it, join a writing forum and lurk a bit, learning from people, write a short piece and post. It will be critiqued and you can improve.

Check it out. You basically have to write a short novel by the end of November, so you should start right now if you're interested.

Technically, you don't disprove the statement. He is saying that all people who are sad write, which means that not all people who write are sad. This is a formal logical fallacy called 'denying the antecedent'.

I know nobody cares, but I thought somebody should make that point.

switching it means that there are happy writers as well
leaving it original means all writers are sad
the other way means there are sad writers and happy writers
its literally a completely different statement

This is actually completely wrong. A implies B does not mean B implies A. just because someone is sad does not mean that they write. its like saying all sharks are fish and all fish are sharks. it doesn't go both ways.
