Let me explain why this post is ******** .

In the past 100 years, humans have seen more advancement than the 500 years previous. Life expectancy has increased to where retirement is expected, not a hope. The standard of living has increased worldwide from handmade hovels to air conditioned houses. The frequency of all out wars has decreased worldwide. Infant mortality has gone from an expectation to a tragedy in much of the world. Education is a right, not a dream. Communication was an expensive telegram or a week's letter delivery, now it's 5 cents in a text message. Humanity sent themselves to the moon and is exploring other planets.

No matter what metric you use, humans have advanced. The world is in chaos since people are being used? 500 years ago, 90%+ of europe was owned by lords. 150 years ago, 1/3 of the southern US population was enslaved. The world is in chaos since we love objects? What are your favorite objects? Your laptop you use to interact with people online? Your car you use to drive to people's houses and events? Your phone you use to keep in touch with friends? Your ring that reminds you of the person who bought it? The internet which shares things other people thought of with you? Your objects are indirectly related to people you love.

I shouldn't be this angry though, after all, if people didn't look around and be upset with the world, we wouldn't get to where we are today. That's the true agony of humanity. We are constantly improving our existence, yet we always feel like we live in **** . This is one of the things that makes humans special. Apes are content flinging their feces, humans keep wanting more.

tl;dr Go ahead and keep stretching for advancement, but never forget how amazing humanity is or the great things we have achieved.

Why this picture keeps getting so many thumbs is beyond me. But this time I cannot abide myself not to reply to it. Since the words connected to it make no sense, I'm going to address the picture itself, which depicts Man's civilization basically ruining "nature." But, instead of trying to explain it myself, I'm simply going to give you a quote that articulates my point perfectly. It is from Robert A. Heinlein's book, "Time Enough for Love," which states:

There are hidden contradictions in the minds of people who "love Nature" while deploring the "artificialities" with which "Man has spoiled 'Nature'." The obvious contradiction lies in their choice of words, which imply that Man and his artifacts are NOT part of "Nature"--but beavers and their dams ARE. But the contradictions go deep than this prima-facie absurdity. In declaring his love for a beaver dam(erected by beavers for beavers' purposes) and his hatred for dams erected by men (for the purposes of men) the "Naturist" reveals his hatred for his own race-- i.e. his own self hatred.
In the case of "Naturists" such self hatred is understandable; they are such a sorry lot. But hatred is too strong an emotion to feel toward them; pity and contempt are the most they rate.
As for me, willy-nilly I am a man, not a beaver, and H. sapiens is the only race I have or can have. Fortunately for me, I like being part of a race made up of men and women--it strikes me as a fine arrangement and perfectly "natural."
Believe it or not, there were "Naturists" who opposed the first flight to old Earth's Moon as being "unnatural" and a "despoiling of Nature."

Sorry for the long post, but the whole section needed to be added for the full effect. Thank you for reading if you did, good sirs. :)

That quote was even worse than the one in the picture and adds nothing to the conversation. All it says is "I think "naturists" are wrong and therefore they are idiots".

Even if you don't believe in creationism,
'People were created to' is just a general term.

People were created to be killed.
Things were created to kill.
The reason the world is not filled with enough chaos is
because things are not being used the right way
and not enough people are getting killed.
