I have yet to see any reason why shaving your hair any differently would increase or decrease the speed with which it grows. I mean, using a standard razor gives you a closer cut so it can feel smoother longer, whereas an electric razor doesn't cut as closely (unless you get a *really* good one) so it may seem as if you've grown hair faster. But hair past the follicle is dead, and doesn't transmit any information back to the follicle itself so there is no way for your hair to change the speed of growth based on outward influences. Although, I'm just going off of what logic I can muster at this time, and I haven't looked into it.
