I'm sure she had the best 9 years of her life. She couldn't have had a better owner. Sad to say ill be putting my dog down too. He is 15 years old blind and deaf. He was a sweet heart and i'll never forget him. Best of luck to you.

i used to have a jack russel we named him barnie and he had to be put down because of diabetes and it had gone too far (we didnt even know that he had it we assumed he went blind because of old age.he was 13) i made sure that the whole ride to the vets i held him in his blanket like a baby (he used to love being babied..he was spoiled) and i kept telling him that i loved him and that i would never forget him and me and my dad will miss him alot but we'll be fine when he goes to sleep.when we get to the vets the receptionist who knew barnie since he was a pup stroked him gave him a kiss on his head and gave him one last treat the vet who put him down had also known him since he was apup and this made him tear up me and my dad held onto barnie as the vet DJ 4DM1Nstered the drug they use to put animals down and i had my hand on his barnies heart i felt it thump away then itslowed and stopped.the vet cried,we all cried.when we were carrying barnie away the vet made sure that he gave him one last hug a stroke on the head and sia dthat out of all the pets he's had to put down this time was different and hurt him alot more.pic related,my little brother that i never had but always wanted,Barnie

This feel just got me harder than any feel had ever gotten before. This made me legitimately cry. I can't imagine the pain you went through and I will have to go through when my dog reaches his time.

It's ok man, at least the dog got to die with loving owners surrounding it. It died a happy dog.
We may be assholes here at funnyjunk, but not 100% of the time, we are always here

It's even sadder when you realize that the ride that the dog was always so happy for was a ride to its death. God dammit OP this is the saddest thing I've read in a long time.

Sometimes i wonder why humans do this to themselves; why we have pets when we know how it's going to end. Then I think of what my life would be like if i had never taken my dog home. A lot shittier, to be exact.

Yeah call me when a member of your family dies like your mom or something, I'm sorry for sounding like an asshole but it was just a fucking dog and news flash they fucking die. I'm sick and tired of you idiots crying over your deceased pets believe it or not there are real problems out there being faced by real people and they don't bitch and whine about their stupid fucking dogs because they can't afford to.

Were you in the room with her? I have had to put down two dogs so far in my life and I wasn't able to be there for the first, I regretted not being there for him and it took weeks to get over. My second however I chose to be with her, (cried like a bitch) but being there with her gave me closure. If you ever need to let your best friend go then be with them until the end... sorry
