Not trying to troll, feel free to correct me here, but according to the bible, killing and hating are wrong no matter what. Being a soldier is not ok if I take the bible seriously. Unless I'm missing some verse somewhere that talks about exceptions to killing and bombing countries.

God advocates the soldier a whole bunch in the old testament, and in the new testament Jesus says a Roman Centurion (A soldier who does a lottta killing) was the most faithfull of all those gathered around. Later on, it says that a soldier who serves his country serves God, as long as he is true to God first.
TL;DR, Jesus s down with soldiers
Hope this helps

I do not fully understand since I'm not one, you're right, however, we choose constantly to ignore many of the clear rules written in the bible. Why? It's ok to ignore some rules, but not others? gay marriage will ruin the lives of everyone, but it's not cool to have slaves anymore? I just don't understand why some Christians do this.
I honestly think that religiously people know not the true answer to questions about God or his/her/their judgement. Forgiveness is an element I think we have correct but as for how God judges, only he knows. Sometimes doing wrong in the eyes of others may seem right to someone and that, I believe, is how God judges. There are gray areas and exceptions of course, but biblically speaking, God knows best. When it comes to gay marriage, personally I think it shouldn't be called marriage because it's a sacred promise between a man and women. But hey, times have changed. I guess we never truly know until we reach the end; which some believe is a new beginning.
