My cat, Butters, died about 4 months ago. Him and my other cat, Kitty Cat, were best friends. A couple weeks ago I walked outside and saw Kitty Cat on Butter's grave. He left him a half dead mole on top of the grave.

When I was six I got my first dog, a golden retriever named Pup. She was wonderful and rambunctious although over time she became a little overweight. She loved to go swimming and play fetch, although she never would give the ball back when she retrieved it. Then when i was 16 we got another puppy, also a golden retriever named Ellie. She was just as rambunctious as Pup had ever been, and even though pup was close to 10 years old, she still would run around our yard and play with Ellie. About three months after we got Ellie Pup started drastically losing weight. She stopped eating and became lethargic. We took her to the vet and discovered both her kidneys were failing. There was nothing we could do but put her down to save her pain. My whole family except for my dad was in the room petting Pup and saying goodbye. My dad was on his way from work, and when he got to the vet he walked in the room and wasn't able to take another step. He loved that dog more than anybody else did. She must have smelled him because she raised her head and wagged her tail once. Before he had arrived she'd barely had the energy to lick our hands, but when my dad whispered "Hi Pup" she struggled to her feet and hobbled over to him. She laid down next to him and fell asleep with her head in his lap. She never woke up again. Months passed and Ellie was fully grown now, skinnier than Pup had been and a little taller. She wasn't very good at playing fetch, she kept losing the tennis balls we would throw for her. It wasn't until about 6 months after Pup died that i visited her grave site in the woods behind our house. There were literally 45 tennis balls all around her grave left by Ellie
