I think this was still a real story and OP just threw that bit together at the end.  It had nothing to do with the rest of the plot and the whole story was so detailed there's no way he made that up.

The Lord of the Rings was so long and detailed it had to be real, there's no way J.R.R Tolkien made it up.

That wasn't my point; my point was that it is possible to come up with long and detailed fictional stories. If not the fiction genre would not exist. I only used Tolkien because is book is a good example of one that couldn't have possible actually happened.
