why? hes speaking his mind. i agree. schools shouldnt force students to pledge allegiance to a country that theyre too young to even know what the word allegiance means. in most schools i know they stop after elementary school but if they dont want to then why should they and if they are disgusted by the acts of the country then why shouldnt they want to see it burn. im not part of that group but when the police attack people for little to no reason or ignore criminals because its cheaper, the military is ordered to bomb cities and kill civilians and the government is ruled by the cash in their pockets and convoluted religious morals why is it unfair to want to see it burn? yeah its extreme but its a fair thing to want

In World War II, he was a gunner on a ship and was in charge of shooting down Kamikaze Zeroes. When he was gunning, their ship was never hit. One day, he was gunning and took down a Zero that almost hit their ship. He turned to his buddy (Who was also his spotter/reloader) laughed and gave him a thumbs up. My grandfather smiled and went to thumb back, but before he could his buddies head was blown off by a 20 MM fucking CANNON. He was in the invasions of Saipan and Iwo Jima. He came home and worked multiple jobs to support his family and managed to buy a house (which is now entirely payed off) and is still taking care of my Dad and Uncle, as well as me and my little brother in ways that we don't even REALIZE. He gave me a car, helped me pay to fix it. He's 87 years old and still runs around like he's 20. Personally, I think that men like that deserve our respect. Fuck me, right?

Anyway, the reason we're still in Iraq is because our main goal is to help establish an organized military for them, however their military is extremely disorganized and many of their "soldiers" are in it for money, and often assist the Taliban.

The reason we're still in the Mid-East, however, varies depending on who you talk to. Me supporting my country, I believe we are there to rid the area of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Many people say that they aren't our problem and they don't threaten the U.S., but I disagree. Just because they don't threaten the U.S. doesn't mean we're going to sit by and let them threaten the lives of civilians in other countries.

About WMDs, who knows if anything has been found. If they have, the government wouldn't likely tell the public. If they haven't, then I guess that's a lot of wasted time.

Our citizens are already taken care of, we live like kings and queens compared to much of the world. I don't see why people chastise the U.S. for wanting to help other countries.

veterans have earned and deserve respect for surviving a war no matter what it was for and those in the world wars and korean war deserve it more than the ones in the wars today. the wars in the middle east are exactly as he described, theyre not for freedom theyre for power and little more. terrorists may have taken down the world trade centers but we have killed hundreds of thousands in countries that had literally nothing to do with it

1) The "under God" stand for any person with a religion can thank their creator for a people (the Founding Fathers) that allow them to be free for any one to tell them what to believe. The Founding Fathers realized they weren't perfect and did the thing to the best of their abilities.
2) The marine that loses the use of his legs to save people to the best of his abilities sees how petty something like that is and detatches them selves from the people (those who think they are perfect), but he will always fight for the people that do their damnest. 2) I never mentioned any marines or anything of the sort. A country is what it is under its government and under its people. The people have given their voice to the government. Don't you talk to me about fucking freedom when there are millions of people out there whose freedom to marry whoever the fuck they want is taken away by those who say that theirs will be if it's allowed. People like that make me sick. And before you say that they should just go to a state that allows gay marriage, there are plenty of states who won't recognize it when they get home.

I too am an atheist and a soldier. I too have friends that want freedoms, but can't have them for the people they protect will not give it to them. Yet they stand. actually the words under god where not in the pledge until 1954, it as also given a few revamps before then, but added nothing about god with those.

I was born in 93, so the pledge I was told to recite mentioned God, and I refused outright, and I stand by that regardless of the intention lol

i stood out of respect for the country, i just refused to say under god. the country flawed as it is, is one of the better places to live. my 5th grade teacher had us recite the pledge one person saying it, the rest of the class following them like a word behind, when it was my turn the other kids where so trained they didn't even notice when i slkipped the words under god. my teacher later asked me why i never said under god, i said "because i don't know if there is one"

I didn't stand either because I grew up in a situation that kept me cut off from everything bigger than hoping for the sunrise tomorrow, and I never developed any sort of respect for the US, or any other country, state, city, town, or most people. I'm just sort of an asshole like that I guess XD
