I love countries that try and brainwash/ guilt trip it's youths into respecting it.
"Please respect out country as this man did when he was younger and now he got injured fighting a corrupt war, simply because he respected his country so much that he signed up"
Yes, Respecting his country sure got him far.

Oh, the comic implied the american soldier couldn't stand up because he was "defending freedom" of other americans. And all the brainwashed american teenagers thumbed this shit up....
Let me break it to you straight. Lets cut the fucking shit. Who is threatening your freedom? Terrorists? Please, you are as likely to get killed by a terrorist as your by your furniture...
America is in other countries to get monye, oil and minerals. Stop with this defending freedom bullshit There are photographs of AMERICAN soldiers guarding Poppy Fields in Afganistan. Afganistan is responsible for 90+% of the worlds herion and since the americans went to afganistan, the herion usage and imports went up drastically. You think its just a coincidence that herion usage goes up as soon as americans get into a country that makes 90+% of the worlds supply and we can clearly see american soldiers in the field.
What about attacking Irag as a justification for 9/11 when anyone with 2 braincells now knows Irag had nothing to do with 9/11?
I can keep going but this box has limited characters. So please, don't even try to pull off this bullshit that "this soldier fought for our freedom", thats propaganda, if you believe that you have been brainwashed.

Does anyone else ever get tired of this mindless jingoism? It isn't just American soldiers who get injured, your Allies do as well. Cheers for remembering us.

1. the pledge of allegiance is not a brainwashing scheme that makes America nazi germany. so for all you fags out there saying "I can't believe they really do that, wow nazi americans" shut up. It's a fucking pledge, out of respect. If you live in America and don't say the pledge, i don't care, if don't like America and it's policies and laws, you can leave. The world doesn't revolve around you, and we are not going to change for you. I like my country, I say the pledge, and I will join the military. If that makes me evil in your eyes, then you and your opinion don't really matter to me. there is nothing any of you can do to stop me, so just shut up.
The soldier fought and lost the use of his legs, all to maintain the right to free will in America. He is now being used as a tool to try to convince a boy not to exercise this right. A mass disrespect towards the soldier's efforts don't you think?

1) American military right now is hardly defending anyone's freedom. (Whoever they are fighting in Iraq right now can't possibly harm united states in any way, we on the other hand could blow up their whole sorry excuse for a country with ICBMs)
2) You're pledging allegiance to a fucking cloth, not the nation, not the people thereof, you pledge it to the cloth.
3) "under god"
4) Should united states fall to any invader do you think they would really bother taking away your right not to stand for the pledge, rather the whole pledge would go away (I really don't think there's any other country that demands students do it)

Lol, imagine if he did that every day...
"Kevin, are you going to stand or not?"
"Nope"
"Well, guess who I'm going to go get?"
"A veteran in a wheelcha-"
"A VETERAN IN A WHEELCHAIR! Now class, keep standing while I run to the veterans hospital."

My Great Grandfather lied about his age, joined the Allies, and fought in WWII. At 19, he walked into Ordrhuf, liberated Buchenwald, and took shrapnel in the gut from a goddamn tank.
You know what HE thought of the Pledge? His exact words, as repeated to me when my Mother spoke of him (He died of lung cancer when I was 2) "The Pledge of Allegiance is absolute horse shit. Instead of trying so damned hard to be 'patriotic', how about you suck it up and be a decent human being?"

I don't stand for two reasons:
1) I don't believe in the "under God" part.
2) I do not believe there is truly liberty and justice for all. When people stop persecuting another for their race, creed, sexual orientation, and/or gender, I will stand. When gays are given the right to marry not because they are gay, but because they are human just like the rest of us, then I will stand. When I can see my best friend legally walk down the aisle with the girl she loves, THEN I WILL FUCKING STAND.

can someone please clarify how american soldiers have anything to do w. our freedom ?
you people keep saying they go out & risk their lives for OUR freedom , but violence against another country really doesnt benefit or harm citizens in the us .
if someone could explain what is meant by ' defending out freedom ' to me , i would appreciate it .

I said the pledge once, when i was in elementary school. But then i realized what the fuck i was saying, and i never said it again. I stand, and give respect, but i do not "Pledge allegiance to the flag."
I remember seeing old video reels of a country in the 1930's having their kids pledge allegiance to their flag. But it was hard to understand what was going on, because the commentary was in German.

I actually refused to stand up or recite the pledge because I don't believe in idolization and I also do not believe in being forced to accept God. Had a teacher put on suspension for trying day after day to force me to stand and recite.
