I know exactly what you mean. I feel like these kind of interactions have no meaning to them--you're just numbing yourself with alcohol and loud, trashy music. I'd much rather sit down and talk with someone over a cup of tea or something--at least that way you're getting to know and are forming bonds with a person. All you do at a party is just get drunk and maybe have loveless sex with a stranger if you're lucky.
If you don't go to parties, it's not because you're a loser. Maybe you just have your priorities straight and know what's important.

I don't like parties; never have, never will. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't like to dance, and I'm a shy person and I always will be. I'll go as long as I have that one friend I can stick by and they won't ditch me, but even then I just feel out of place; it's just not my kind of environment.

At home: "I wish I was at the party, this game is boring and I won't friends by sitting here and playing games"

It depends on the kind of party you're talking about.
-Party with 872 of somebody closest Facebook freinds, fuck this shit.
-Party with friends you'd meet even without the internet - priceless.

Unfortunately most partys are a type-1.

I can say with confidence that 65% of the people on FJ who don't like parties fall into these categories...

1.Social outcast.
2. Social Disorder.
3. Doesn't know how to party.
4. Is a serious fuckin loser who looks down on people for not being as miserable as he is.

You can have fun at a party without drinking.

I really don't understand the point of parties like that.
"Let's all get so trashed we can't remember shit!"
At least, that's your typical party in my country.
Hell, I don't even understand the point of alcohol.
